INTRODUCTION

School of Medical Sciences, established in 1979, began offering courses in Doctor of Medicine degree in June 1981. This course is conducted USM Health Campus, Kelatan Campus area of 72.84 hectares is located in Kubang Kerian, Kelatan, equipped study, research and the most modern medical care in the region. This is cinsistent with the objective of its establishment to produce Doctors and medical professionals to meet the needs of the country, while working to improve the standard of medical services.

School of Medical Sciences has three main functions namely:-

COURSE DEGREE OF DOCTOR MEDICINE (MD)

Generally courses in the program as a multi-disciplinary learning. One of the privileges of the School of Medical Sciences is a learning – oriented teaching based on the organ or system integration with a focus on problem – solving. The curriculum emphasizes the patient as a human in the context of family and community. It aims to raise awareness about the medical responsibility to society in a wider context, and a leadership role in the health care and continuing medical education.

CURRICULUM

Medical doctor degree program takes five years. Curriculum is based on the pattern of integration and problem – solving and community oriented. The program is divided into three phases:
