Gallery® kitchen ranges have been specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s house builders. Manufactured from top quality materials and hard-wearing components, the cabinets will retain their good looks and efficient operation throughout their life.

Introduction

Please check through the list belowto ensure we have all the informationwe need to supply your exactrequirements.

General• Please provide details of the delivery site address, including development names (where applicable), site phone number and name of site contact.

• Specify your required week commencing delivery date.

• Please provide your Gallery quotation reference number and Gallery CAD drawingnumber (if applicable).

Units• State Gallery Standard or Gallery Premium. (See pages 10-13 for cabinet specifications.)

• State the range and finish/cabinet colour, e.g. Boston White/Metallic cabinet.

• If ordering extras, state handle/trim option ifapplicable.

• If ordering extras, state the full unit code foreach item.

• Give the appropriate unit handings whererequired. See the notes on page 04.

• If ordering extras, state appropriate blender orreplacement ends if required (see pages 14-15for replacement ends and pages 28-29 forblenders).

• If ordering extras, state cornice/pelmet style(see pages 30-31).

• Corner base units - ensure that the appropriatecodes for style and variation have been given.

• Appliance housings - orders must include themanufacturer's name and the model number ofthe appliance to be fitted, together with theaperture size if known.

General information

Construction18mm GallerySide panels, bases, shelves and rails are manufactured from 18mm highdensity chipboard. Plinths are manufactured from 15mm chipboard.Muntins and drawer support rails on double base units aremanufactured from 52mm x 36mm section foil wrapped MDF. All unitshave inset fitted backs. Vulnerable cabinet edges are lipped to resistmoisture. All 18mm cabinets are supplied on adjustable legs. All unitshave fully colour co-ordinated cabinets which removes the need foradditional end panels.

18mm Gallery PremiumSide panels, bases and shelves are manufactured from 18mm highdensity chipboard. Plinths are manufactured from 15mm chipboard.Muntins, drawer support rails and double base units are manufacturedfrom 52mm x 36mm section foil wrapped MDF. Base units have 15mmsolid inset back, wall units have 8mm solid back. Exposed cabinetedges have 2mm PVC edging to resist moisture into the panels and toprevent damage. All 18mm Gallery Premium cabinets are supplied onadjustable legs. All units have fully colour co-ordinated cabinets whichremoves the need for additional end panels. All drawer boxes have adecorative chrome profile as standard (except New England).

Melamine Faced ChipboardAll chipboard used in manufacture complies with BS EN 312-3(P2)and has a minimum density of 650 kilograms per cubic metre.The melamine impregnated paper used for cabinets is 80 grams persquare metre.

Drawer SystemREVO Silent system is a fully extendible soft close drawer systemgiving increased storage space. This drawer box has a 16mm chipboardbase and quadro runners and a 30kg loading capacity which complieswith BS6222 Standards. 18mm Gallery Premium New England suppliedwith an oak drawer box as standard. Eko timber drawer available as anupgrade on Shaker and Timeless ranges.

HingesThe 18mm range features 3-way adjustable soft close clip-on hinges.

Metal FittingsAll metal fittings and screws used in manufacture are plated.

WireworkAll wirework used in the ranges is finished to complement the cabinetcolours.

PlinthsSee pages 28-31 for details.

Continuous plinth needs to be ordered separately.

Frontal Options

All base units are available in full height door or door and drawerformats, with the exception of some specialised units such as pull outpan drawer units.

Cabinet Front Edge LippingAll front edge lipping is co-ordinated to exterior finish.

WorktopsWorktops are constructed from laminate bonded chipboard and areavailable in 30mm and 40mm bullnose and 40mm PVC edged styles.Please refer to pages 43 - 48 for details. Earthstone , Silestone, Graniteand DuPont™ Corian® are also available.

Glazed Wall Units and Feature Units Styles of glazed units, dresser units and open display units varyaccording to range.

Shelf supportsShelves are supported on metal shelf clips.

HandingsMany units are described as left or right handed. Handings should beexpressed as if looking at the unit from the front.

Handings required are:

The side of the hinge on single units (e.g. left hand hinged)

The side of the blanked end of corner units (e.g. left hand blanked)

The position of the drainer on sink units (e.g. left hand drainer)

The end position of a base wing end unit (e.g. left hand end)

The side of a working drawer on a double base unit (e.g. left hand side)

Unit codesPrefix LettersThese indicate the type of unit, such as BU for base unit; WU for wallunit; BR for broom unit; LU for larder unit; OH for oven housing unit;SU for sink unit.

Numbers The numbers indicate the width of the unit followed either by thedepth, or in case of wall units, the height. For example a WU1072 is awall unit 1000mm wide and 724mm high. A BU56 is a base unit500mm wide and 600mm deep.

Suffix LettersAny letters following the number code indicate a variant of the type asfollows:

Tolerance allowancesPlaster allowances vary depending on the type of finish used. Unlessinstructed otherwise of a particular customer’s requirement, design willallow 30mm per wall on dry lining and dot & dab, 12.5mm per wall onstud walls with taped joints, and 15mm per wall on skimmed stud walls.

The Design Department will allow 50mm wall to wall building tolerance.This allows for extra length on worktops and the distance units finishfrom a wall. Where a freestanding appliance terminates a run against awall allow 620mm minimum for the appliance (600mm for theappliance and 20mm for skirting boards) plus the required buildingtolerance (see above paragraph).

Sink UnitsCertain sink units do not have a factory fitted sink liner (as marked).These will be supplied loose and fitted on site.

Ordering information

To enhance the finish of a selection of our kitchens, replacement cabinet end panels are available to order atan additional cost.The replacement end panels are designed to be fitted to the exposed ends of a unit run only. On base andtall units (for example larder units and tall appliance housings) the replacement cabinet end panel is a fulllength panel extending to the floor and therefore additional end blender panels will not be required.Please note: Belfast sink units, American fridge freezers, diagonal wall units and microwave wall units are notavailable with replacement ends. Also, replacement cabinet ends are not available with our Linear range.

Care and attention

BackgroundWe use only the highest quality timbers in the production of solidand veneered doors, drawer frontals and accessories.

The company adheres to exacting environmental standards, andguarantees the sustainable sources of its timbers.

Care and ProtectionIt is important that you treat all frontals, particularly timbers, withcare, in order that they maintain their good looks and performance.

If scratches do occur, an application of furniture polish or wax willusually repair the situation. Do not allow water to stand on timbersurfaces, always wipe off immediately.

Never use abrasive cleaners or strong chemicals on furniture.Clean melamine and laminates with a damp cloth, warm water anda mild detergent.

Avoid placing electric kettles and steamers directly below wallunits and on worktop joints to avoid condensation.

Check regularly that all screws are secure and never rest anyheavy objects on partly opened doors or drawers.

Cabinet/Frontal Colour ConsistencyTimbers and veneers are natural materials and are subject to thevariations in colours and grain differences that nature promotes.All timbers feature small graining marks and knots. These are partof the timber’s natural properties and do not represent faults inthe door or drawer.

PVC, melamine and laminates are synthetically produced,therefore it is virtually impossible to guarantee a totally accuratematch between timber/timber veneered frontals and accessories.Notwithstanding the difficulties involved, Gallery endeavourswherever possible to produce the closest match thatmanufacturing and finished technology allow. Timbers also mellowover time, but as the cabinet material does not, this could causesome longer term colour discrepancy. A slight difference in colourbetween different components does not in itself mean that theproduct is not of satisfactory quality.

Timber CharacteristicsAs a natural material, wood reflects the endless variety of grainsand textures found in nature and such variances must beexpected. All timbers mellow when exposed to sunlight, so acolour change is possible. Whilst such definitive characteristicsmake them a perfect vehicle for furniture design, it is importantthat you treat them with care, and eliminate the risk of contactwith sharp or heavy objects, “scratching”, exposure to chemicals,etc. before, during and after installation.

Corner base units

Gallery’s range of corner base units allows wide flexibility in the positioning of corner units for the clearance of water orsoil vent pipes when required. Please specify the handing of the blanking panel side when ordering. For an explanationof handings see page 04.

All corner base units have centre hung doorswith 110° hinges. Corner posts and blankingpanels are fitted as standard. On corner baseunits with a corner post, a blanking panel coversthe void of the unit.

A 600mm colour co-ordinated blanking panel isfitted where corner posts are NOT required - e.g.when the blank abuts a void for a freestandingappliance or tray space.

IMPORTANT: Please specify the handing of theside of the blanking panel when ordering.

Corner postsThe Gallery corner post allows product rangeswith protruding handles to be offset by 30mm inorder to avoid possible clashing of drawerhandles in a corner. The corner postautomatically spaces out the units to the correctsize across Dimension A. However the fitter mustremember to position the corner unit (asappropriate) from the wall (see diagram to theright).

Corner sink base units1000mm and 1200mm drawer line corner baseunits are also available as corner sink units with adummy drawer. To specify a corner sink unitchange the prefix letters on the standard cornerbase unit code from ‘CB’ to ‘CS’ as shown in theexample below:

A corner unit with either a shelf or a revolvingcarousel.

The two doors are hinged on the end panels andopen to 170°.

In order to facilitate transportation, the unit issupplied as ready for assembly and the carouselor shelf must be fitted on site. Full height door ordoor and dummy drawer front styles areavailable. The dummy drawer fronts are fixed tothe doors.

Diagonal corner baseunitsA diagonal corner unit with a shelf.

A single door hinged and open to 110°.

In order to facilitate transportation, the unit issupplied flatpack. Full height door or door anddummy drawer front styles are available. Thedummy drawer fronts are fixed to the doors.
