Résumé:

Gaëll Mainguy is a former pupil of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and holds a PhD in Molecular biology (Pierre and Marie Curie University). He successively worked for the CNRS (Paris), the Center for Biomedical Genetics (Utrecht, The Netherlands) and the INSERM (Paris) in various fields of molecular biology. In 2004, he has been elected President of the World Association of Young Scientists (WAYS), an international organization founded by UNESCO to empower young scientists across the world, irrespective of their discipline. He is currently managing the development of an online social network to foster interactions between scientists and bridge the gap between science and society. Gaëll Mainguy joined the Veolia Environment Institut in 2006 to develop its scientific editorial policy. In 2007 he launched SAPIENS, a new Open Access international, peer-reviewed and transdisciplinary journal focused on integrating knowledge from all scientific areas relevant to the interactions of society and the environment. He is currently the managing editor of SAPIENS.
