. G450 Media Gateway Up gradation Activity ..

1. Logged on Media Gateway with proper ID and Password through Telnet..

2. And Insert pen drive on Med gateway (Pen drive should contain only upgradable firmware file nothing else

Ex. g450_soft_30_20_1.bin)

3. After connecting , MG will show device details.

4. Then check current firmware Version and boot bank (command: show ima ver )

<Current> indication represent boot bank, menans here boot bank is A

5. Now need to Copy the running configuration through the command : copy run start

6. Now run this command to download pen drive updated firmware on Media gateway boot bank B

[# copy usb sw_imageB usbdevice0 g450_sw_30_20_1.bin ] image B represent up-gradation for bank B

Because MG boots from bank A , so we will upgrade bank B first then change bootable bank and again upgrade Bank A.

System will ask for confirmation: press Y and Enter. Now downloading process will be started..

7. We can check download status through the command: show down soft 10, where 10 is media module.

We can see here Running state is showing writing......... ( it writes on ROM )

After download the file system will start upgrading the firmware automatically.

8. You can see in below screenshots its showing idle (Running state ) and No-Warning .

9. Now check the updated firmware version through the command : show ima ver. You can see here it has been updated.

Earlier version was 30.16.0 (shows on bank A) now it has been updated with 30.20.1

10. Now change the MG boot bank from A to B to upgrade bank A . [command : set boot bank-B]

11. Now reset the MG to boot from bank B, system will restart and connection will lost for 1 to 2 minutes...

12. After restart, Telnet the MG. And check bank and firmware status. [command show ima ver ]

13. Now again copy the pen drive firmware on bankA through this command...

14. Again same process to upgrade BankA

Check both bank versions...

15. You can set MG boot bankA through command [set boot bank-A]

After completion the activity need to check alarms and status..
