Pivot is a key place to start searching for funding.◦ Pivot is a database that includes funding

opportunities available to individuals. It allows you to tailor searches that meet different

funding needs. Each Sunday evening, an email with new and

updated funding opportunities, that meet the parameters of your searches, will be sent to you in digest form, with links back to the full information in Pivot.

Getting Started

You can access Pivot :◦ From the “Grants Directory” tab on this Research Guide.◦ From the library’s home page: -under “Databases by Subject -> Grants -> Most Useful;”OR-from the library’s home page under Databases A-Z by clicking on “P,” and then scrolling down to click on the Pivot link.

Accessing Pivot

Create a Pivot account by clicking on “Sign up” in the upper right corner.

Register using your DU email account.Within a few minutes, a confirmation email will be forwarded to the email account where you have DU email sent. (Check your junk mail if you don’t receive an email.)If you do not know your DU email address, type your name into the DU directory.

Search using either the basic or advanced search options.

On the results page for either the basic or advanced search, you can limit using the facets to the left.

Once you are happy with the results, you can save the search so that emails, with new or updated information, will be sent to you on Sunday evening. Generally, we advise using the keywords you searched as the title of the saved search. You can save several searches which meet different needs.

To view your saved searches, click on “Home” and then on “Saved Searches.” The envelope indicates that email alerts are active. Use the Options drop down menu to delete searches or turn off email notifications.
