World wide there are m~ny research and deveiopment projects on the combustion, gasification and liquefaction of wood, pet and straw. The fun- damental chemistry of these proc__os~es is only partly esmbl-~.ed and this meeting will ser~ to put together the current state of knowledge of mecha- nisms, -kineticsand therrnochemical and thermophys,.'cal property dam. The format ~d.llbe to have plenary lectures on the above topics, delivered by leading experts, and to have contributed papers in the above areas. The refereed proceedings will be published in 1983.
