Yoshitatsu Uechi, 48, told the Asahi Shimbun newspaper that he and his fellow workers were under such intense pressure to perform repairs as quickly as possible on the devastated plant that adhesive tape was used to “repair” critical equipment and that they even neglected to apply rust inhibitor on the radioactive water tanks. “I couldn’t believe that such slipshod work was being done,” he said. “Even if it was part of stopgap measures.” Back in Oct. 2012, Uechi and another worker climbed to the top of a storage tank holding radioactive water in order to bolt a steel lid over its opening. When they reached the top, he noticed that the opening, one foot in diameter, was only covered with white adhesive tape and that the water level was less than two feet from below the opening. He was given only four bolts to fasten the lid even though there were eight bolt holes in total. Uechi also revealed cost-cutting techniques used during the plant’s construction, such as the decision to use wire net to reinforce the concrete foundation under the water tanks instead of much stronger and more commonly used rebar. Furthermore, waterproof sheets were placed over the joints inside tanks instead of sealing agent, which would have been much more effective at stopping radiation leaks. Uechi’s experiences add to the already exhaustive evidence that the nuclear disaster is far more deadly than what the Tokyo Electric Power Company and the Japanese government suggest.

Rebar wasn’t even used to reinforce the concrete foundation under water tanks, says worker A Japanese worker who spent six months at the Fukushima nuclear power plant says that he isn’t surprised about the latest radioactive leaks from the plant because of its shoddy construction and repair work, including the use of duct tape to “fix” key equipment. Yoshitatsu Uechi, 48, told the Asahi Shimbun newspaper that he and his fellow workers were under such intense pressure to perform repairsas quickly as possible on the devastated plant that adhesive tape was used to “repair” critical equipmentand that they even neglected to apply rust inhibitor on the radioactive water tanks.“I couldn’t believe that such slipshod work was being done,” he said. “Even if it was part of stopgap measures.”

Back in Oct.

Uechi also revealed cost-cutting techniques used during the plant’s construction, such as the decision touse wire net to reinforce the concrete foundation under the water tanks instead of much stronger and more commonly used rebar.

As we reported today, snow in Missouri hasdouble the normal amount of radiation and a Geiger counter showed five times the safe level ofradiation at a beach near San Francisco.

Government officials, however, rejected thepossibility that the severe increase in radiationwas linked to the Fukushima disaster.

But as we also reported last week, the Departmentof Health and Human Services has ordered 14million doses of potassium iodide, which protectthe body from radiation poisoning.

Japanese officials even admitted that the radiationlevels surrounding the plant were 18 times higherthan they had previously reported.

Missouri Snow Found To Contain Radiation Double Normal AmountPaul Joseph WatsonInfowars.comJanuary 6, 2014

More concerns about possible impact of Fukushima Readings taken from snow blanketing St. Louis, Missouri contains double the normal radiation amount, once again stoking concerns that the ongoing Fukushima crisis is now firmly impacting areas of America. “The radiation return from the snow precipitation is returning DOUBLE the normal background amounts. Normal background in this area is approximately 30CPM,” writes YouTube user DutchSinse, alongside a video documenting the readings.

“This means small particles of radioactive material are indeed coming down in the precipitation. Past tests show around 30CPM in the same spot on a nice day with no precipitation,” he adds, noting that snowstorms in 2012 also showed alert level radiation readings.

As we reported earlier, Geiger counter readings taken on a beach in San Francisco returned results five times the safe level of normal background radiation, prompting federal officials to launch an investigation.

Whether such readings are linked to the ongoing Fukushima crisis is unknown, but the fact that officials in Japan have been duplicitous in downplaying the true scale of radiation releases at almost every turn has understandably fanned the flames of suspicion.

Last week it was reported that new plumes of radioactive steam were emerging from the crippled reactor number 3 at the plant, but TEPCO representatives refused to explain the cause.

A former Fukushima worker also recently revealed that duct tape and wire nets were used to “repair” leaking radioactive water tanks in 2012 as a cost cutting measure.

The Department of Health and Human Services has ordered 14 million doses of potassium iodide, the compound that protects the body from radioactive poisoning in the aftermath of severe nuclear accidents, but a DHHS official denied that the purchase was connected to the Fukushima crisis.

Has Fukushima's Radioactive Wave Already HitCalifornia?Paul Joseph Watson & Alex JonesInfowars.comJanuary 6, 2014 Health officials confirm spike in radiation on San Francisco beach but have no answers Predictions that Fukushima’s radioactive ocean plume would hit the west coast of the U.S. sometime in 2014 may have already come to pass, with a new video showing Geiger counter readings of background radiation at a beach in San Francisco over five times the safe level. Days after a YouTube video emerged showing background radiation at a Coastside beach reaching over 150 micro-REM per hour, Health officials in San Mateo County confirmed the spike but said they were “befuddled” as to itscause.

Page 4: Fukushima Workers Use Duct Tape To “Stop” Radiation Leaks

However, officials dismissed the possibility that the readings could be linked to Fukushima radiation reaching the west coast despite forecasts by experts last summer that radioactive particles from Fukushima would reach U.S. coastal waters in 2014.

The video shows a man measuring radiation readings at different spots on a beach south of Pillar Point Harbor. Background radiation in the areas immediately surrounding the beach are normal, but once the man approaches the water itself, the radiation spikes to at least 500 per cent safe levels and the Geiger counter’s alarm goes off.

The man behind the video claims that on his previous visit to the same beach, radiation readings were 13 times the safe level.

“In the following days, other amateurs with Geiger counters began posting similar videos online,” reports the Half Moon Bay Review. “The videos follow other alarming news last month that starfish were mysteriously disintegrating along the West Coast, a trend that has not been linked yet to any cause.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and state Department of Public Health are now investigating the cause of the radiation and more information is expected to be released this week.

While officials will almost certainly downplay the situation in order to prevent panic, it’s important to remember that genuine public health crises are virtually always preceded by government duplicity.

TEPCO and the Japanese government have repeatedly been caught lying in their efforts to downplay the scale of the Fukushima disaster. In September it was confirmed that radiation readings around the power plant were 18 times higher than previously reported by TEPCO. After a tank leaked 300 tonnes of toxic water in August, groundwater radiation readings at the plant soared to 400,000 becquerels per litre, the highest reading since the nuclear accident occurred in March 2011.

EPA officials in America also lied in the weeks after 9/11 when they told rescue workers and the general public that the air at ground zero was safe to breathe. According to insiders, EPA officials knewthat the dust in the air was laden with asbestos but chose to cover up the truth, leading to at least 20,000ground zero workers suffering debilitating illnesses and numerous deaths.Mainstream media outlets have also largely toed the line on Fukushima despite overwhelming evidenceof a cover-up of the true scale of the crisis by Japanese authorities. Former MSNBC host Cenk Uygur was told not to warn the public about the danger posed by the meltdown at the Fukushima

nuclear plant during his time as a host on the cable network.

Concerns that the federal government is preparing for some form of nuclear emergency have heightened after it was revealed that the Department of Health and Human Services has ordered 14 million doses of potassium iodide, the compound that protects the body from radioactive poisoning in the aftermath of severe nuclear accidents, to be delivered before the beginning of February.
