What is the difference between

Safecast & Radcast?

Safecast engineered their own hardware and presents their data

on a dynamic Google map.

The Safecast unit records data for upload (no tampering and a

beginner could operate it).

It includes GPS/dosimeter/geiger.

It currently has less US data points on its map, but we imagine the

data integrity is much higher. The uniformity in the hardware and

software also ensures uniform data and clearer answers.

What is the difference between

Safecast & Radcast?

Radcast is anyone with a geiger counter, which is a ticking time

bomb for small, repeated little bouts of panic.

Remember the California beach video incident?

Yeah. Imagine flare-ups like that nation wide during the most

inconvenient times.

Radcast is a feel good site. It gets people thinking. It's great for

spreading awareness, it has a strong and well defined purpose.

–but we think the clear winner is Safecast.

Why are there less Safecast data

points in the US?

Supply and demand of Safecast hardware?

Lack of visibility?

Frugality of the American people?

Why are there less Safecast data

We’re not sure. But we know this:

People in the US need to put their money where their mouth is.

Blaming government is a red herring. It only causes more

unrest, distrust, disinformation, and fear mongering. It leaves more

room for the blogosphere to fill in the cracks with editorial instead

of producing new, solid facts.

Safecast has been around 3 years. The limited

number of data points on its map of the USA confound us.

Why are there less Safecast data

points in the US?

3 years.

A lot of kicking sand.

A lot of debating.

A lot of talk.

A lot of Google searches.

When the solution has been under our noses this whole time.
