July 2,, 1776 the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence from Great Britain.
July 4, 1776 the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence.
-Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson.
John Adams believed that July 2nd was the correct day to celebrate Independence Day and refused invitations to celebrations on the 4th of July.
John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4th 1826, 50 years after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence (www.history.com)

10th Mountain and Fort Drum NotesMEDDAC PROVIDES CLINIC COVERAGE PLANS FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY FEDERAL AND TRAINING HOLIDAYSU.S. Army Medical Department Activity officials have announced clinic coverage plans for the Fourth of July federal and training holidays, July 4 and 5, respectively.
All MEDDAC facilities will be closed with the exception of urgent careavailability at the Family Medicine Clinic at Guthrie. Urgent Care will beavailable from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to support patients' urgent medical needs onJuly 4 and 5.For medical emergencies, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department for treatment.

Parking lot reconstruction over block leaveDPW Engineering will have contractors performing parking lot reconstruction starting 02 July 12 for the North Gate Mini Mall on Iraqi Freedom Road P11005. Closure of both entrances will be necessary during the reconstruction to make repairs to the asphalt. Work is anticipate to be completed by 9 July 12 DPW Engineering will have contractors performing parking lot reconstruction starting 02 July 12 for the Mt Belvedere Mini Mall on Mt Belvedere Rd and PO Valley Rd P4230. The Mt Belvedere Rd entrance will be closed during the reconstruction to make repairs to the asphalt. Access into and out of the mini mall will be reduced to only one entrance on PO Valley Rd. Access to gas pumps and the mini mall will be available with possible delays because of construction vehicles. Work is anticipate to be completed by 15 July 12 . Because of uneven surfaces throughout the parking lot during the reconstruction, please insure to use caution and reduce your speed . Observe all cones and fencing directing pedestrians around the parking lot and into the building.

The Military Family Life Consultants (MFLCs) are licensed professionals who listen to your issues and direct you to agencies who can help. Sometimes all it takes is talking out the issue in order to find a resolution.
