FORT DRUM GOING TO PIECES QUILT GUILD KICKS OFF 2012 - 2013 YEAR, AUGUST 1 The Fort Drum Going to Pieces Quilt Guild kicks off the 2012-2013 year on Wednesday, August 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the Range Control building (P-4855).

During the August meeting, we will discuss our plans for the upcoming year. This is a great time for new members to join our guild. We meet every first Wednesday at 6:30 pm; meetings usually last two hours. We have members teach some of our classes and once during the year host a guest speaker. In the past, we made baby quilts which were donated to the Fort Drum ACS Baby Bundle program, quilts donated to the children of fallen Soldiers, and quilts which were given to the Syracuse VA for distribution to more than 50 Veterans. We donated "community" quilts to the Officers' Spouses Club for scholarship fund raising. Last year we donated children's pillow cases to the Jefferson Rehabilitation Center. And last, but not least, our guild offers camaraderie and respite from home! All quilters are welcome! No matter how long we've been quilting, we always learn something new. For more info on the Going to Pieces Quilt Guild, please contact Jill Fraczek after 5:30 p.m. at 782-8360 or send an email to: [email protected] .
