I inserted a rectangle from the shape tool and filled it in with black to establish my background. I

spreadit across the whole page.

I inserted the picture using ‘place embedded’, then used thequick selection tool to extract the photo out of the photo.I then used ‘image’ > ‘adjustments’ to alter the brightness, vibrance, and exposure etc.

To create the mastheadI inserted the texttool and drew out the box. I typed my titleand chose the font ‘helvetica condense’. I scaled the title to my chosen size and placed it. To get the colour I chose I highlighted the text and used the colourpalette to make the blue colour. I thenmade it slightly opaque by going to the layer panel and decreasing the ‘opacity’.

I then added the right-hand thirdcover lines usingthe text tool, following a twocolour theme oflight blue and adarker blue. I included additionalinformation underthe cover linesin a white and yellow to follow the colour scheme.I added additional info at the bottom

such as more unknown bands, stillkeeping the font and colour scheme.

I included a barcode in the bottom right hand corner of right hand third of the page which is vital for a magazine and is a code and convention for every magazine. It also includes the issue date, issue number, and price

For the ribbon style cover-line I went into the shape tool and selected the ‘custom shape tool’, and selected the ribbon and placed it. I then used the ‘eye dropper’ tool to copy the same colour and applied it to the ribbon. I finally just inserted the text.
