From the Principal
It’s hard to believe it, but Fall
officially begins this Thursday!
Soon we will be enjoying the
cooler days and beautiful colors
that this season brings. It’s also a
good time to remind everyone to
bring jackets and dress in layers.
Trivia Night
Our first school fundraiser for the
year is coming up on Saturday
September 24th. Trivia Night
will take place in the Parish Hall.
Doors will open at 6:30pm with
Trivia beginning promptly at
7pm. This is a fun evening filled
with fellowship and Trivia. You
do not need to be a Trivia buff to
enjoy. Teams are needed! Get a
team of 8 together or we can
place you on a team if you’d
prefer. The cost is $15 per per-
son or $25 per couple. Bring
your own food and drink and
enjoy the evening! You will find
more information in the Wednes-
day envelope. Contact Justyna
Baustert through FastDirect or
the school office for more infor-
mation. I hope to see you there!
Fall Festival
Our annual St. Mary Fall Festival
is coming soon! This is our larg-
est fundraiser of the year! Please
mark your calendar for October
14th and 15th. October 14th is
the Grand Auction Dinner and
Silent Auction and October 15th
is the Fun Run, Children’s Carni-
val, Sidewalk Grill, Silent Auc-
tion, Raffle, as well as the annual
Talent Show and Pork Roast
Dinner. Please consider attend-
ing as many events as possible.
Much of the proceeds go toward
our school! Donations for the
auctions are still being accepted.
Please bring them to the Parish
office. Volunteers are needed!
More information to come!
Safety Drills
The safety of our students and
teachers is important to us. We
conduct fire drills once a month
and we hold lock down/lock out
as well as tornado drills twice per
year. Our first fire drill of the
year was last Monday. It went
well and we evacuated the build-
ing in 1 min. 37 sec.
Called to Protect
In order to volunteer at St. Mary
in any capacity, you must first
take the Called to Protect Class.
Once you take this 3 hour class,
you will not need to take it again
for 5 years. Due to high demand,
we are offering another class on
Saturday, October 1st from 9am-
12pm in the school library. This
course will be taught by Dani
Minner. Please call the school
office to reserve your spot. We
do not currently have another
class scheduled in the near future,
so if you are needing to take this
class, please act quickly. Be sure
to leave a copy of your certificate
in the school office for our rec-
ords.

Fire Inspection
The City of Greeley came to
the school on August 17th to
conduct a fire safety inspec-
tion. This happens once every
year. I am happy to share with
you that we had no violations
and that our fire alarms are in
proper working order.
Ink Recycling Discontinued
The school will no longer be collecting empty
ink cartridges. If you would like to recycle
your ink cartridges you can take them to Of-
fice Depot/Office Max. When you drop them
off let them know you are dropping them off
for St. Mary Catholic School and they will
give us Reward Points. Please note that they
will only accept the first 10 cartridges for
Reward Points, after that it is just a donation.
Blessing of the Pets
In honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on
Oct. 4, Fr. Goggins will hold a blessing of the
pets that morning at 8:30am. Please be sure
all pets are on leashes or in cages and that they
return home after the blessing. Thank you!
No School September 30th

St. Mary Catholic School Girl Scout Troop 4114
Can I be a Catholic, and participate in Girl Scouts?
Yes, it is true – Pope Frances and the United States Conference
of Catholic Bishops both support Girl Scouts.
Pope Frances in
June 2015
To the two hundred thirty participants from over forty countries the Pope said, “Inasmuch as Catholic leaders, you also have the opportunity to make the
explicit proclamation of Christ resound, who gives joy and light to the world, within the World Association of Guides and Scouts. Here you find head-guides of all cultures and religions. I hope that it will be the occasion of a sincere and true dialogue among you, in respect of the convictions of each one, and in the serene
affirmation of your faith and of your Catholic identity.” As a part of the private audience, National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) submitted a
letter to Pope Francis and gave him a copy of NFCYM’s resource, Caring for Creation Caring for the Poor.
Please read the information from the National Catholic
Committee for Girl Scouts USA and get the facts. http://www.catholicreligiousrecognitions.org
