Over the past year we have seen an explosion of growth in the number of people using the 4-H

Online Record Book (over ¼ of all 4-H youth across the state). As a result, the need to provide a

clear and efficient path to ask a question, report a problem or make a suggestion has become nec-

essary. The following represent the procedures for getting help navigating your 4-H Online

Record Book.

1. Check out the 4-H Online Record Book Help Website at http://4horb.weebly.com/ beginning

June 15, 2014. This site has both text and video helps on how to use different features of the 4-

H Online Record Book and is a good place to start to learn how to use the system.

2. Also available is the opportunity to bring the 4-H ORB Internet Café workshop to your county.

The ORB Internet Café is provided to give staff and volunteers both individualized and group

instruction on using California 4-H’s Online Record Book System. The café is designed as a 3-

hour workshop that combines presentation, hands-on practice and group discussion.

Participants will need to bring a laptop or tablet with them to the café.

To find out more about the training and it’s cost, please visit:

http://4h.ucanr.edu/Resources/Members/Online_Record_Book/4-

H_Resources/Members/RecordBook/4-H_ORB_Internet_Cafe_Training/

3. If you feel that ORB is not functioning correctly, you have a question that wasn’t addressed from

the help website or have a cool idea that you think would improve the 4-H Online Record Book

System, please fill out an ORB Request Form at

http://ucanr.edu/survey/survey.cfm?surveynumber=11078. This allows everyone who is

working on the 4-H Online Record Book to get the same information at the same time so that

the issue can be addressed in the quickest amount of time. When reporting an issue, it is

important to be as detailed as possible so that we can get a good idea of the challenge that you

are facing. Upon receiving a request for help, a personal response will be sent within 5 business

days of the submission to give an update on the request.

As ORB continues to grow and expand, we are working hard to expand our help resources to provide a

high quality customer service experience for those using this system.

We thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate these growing opportunities.

Sincerely,

Scott Mautte
