Where does information go after transduction and how does it get there? (2 marks)

Question from last lesson

Where does information go after transduction and how does it get there? (2marks)

After transduction, the sensory information has been converted into a form that is able to be relayed via neurons. This is referred to as transmission (1 mark). This process sends the sensory information as action potentials/nerve impulse to relevant areas of the brain (1 mark).

Learning Intentions• Identify the major structures in the eye (Cornea, pupil, lens,

retina, photoreceptors, rods, cones, optic nerve, blind spot, optic chiasm)

• Describe the biological processes in visual perception (Using the terms Stimulus reception, transduction, perception)

Exit Question

Explain the role of the Retina

Exit Question

Explain the role of the Retina

The retina receives and absorbs light, and also processes images.
