Missioning Prayer
As we go forth from this Faith Formation Conference, we commit to opening wide the doors to Christ, when convenient and inconvenient. Let us pray together:
Christ with us, Christ before us,Christ behind us, Christ in us,Christ beneath us, Christ above us,Christ on our right, Christ on our left,Christ when we lie down, Christ when we arise,We open wide the door to Christ.Christ in the heart of every person,Christ in every eye that sees us,Christ in the ear that hears us.We open wide the door to Christ.Christ in the poor and rich, in the shelterless and those who shelter.Christ in our poverty and our abundance, in our failures and successes.Let all around us be Christ. We open wide the door to Christ.- Adapted from St. Patrick (from his breastplate)

Mary Mother of God Mission Society “Reviving the Catholic Church in Eastern Russia”
After the revolution of 1917, Siberia became a showplace of the new Communistera, a land without churches and without God. Under Stalin, all Catholic churches wereconfiscated. Most were destroyed or turned into the most degrading uses imaginable.Catholics were murdered by the thousands, and their bodies dumped into mass graves.Cemeteries were turned into amusement parks.
Carrying only one suitcase and no place to live, two American priests, Fr. MyronEffing, CJD, and Fr. Daniel Maurer, CJD, arrived in the far eastern coastal city ofVladivostok in 1992. Finding only 6 aged Catholics in a city of nearly a million people,Fr. Effing and Fr. Maurer began their work to re-establish the Catholic Church. Sincethen, they have founded or refounded 11 Catholic parishes in an area coveringover 500,000 square miles. With the foundations laid, additional priests and sistersare joining the work, and parishes are very slowly growing and multiplying.

. . . in Defense of Children NEW RELEASE
Getting the Marriage Conversation Right: A Guide for Effective Dialogue teaches you how to promote and defend traditional marriage in non-religious terms. It’s a great “how to” guide to answer those tough questions you’ve struggled with. Author William
B. May shows you how to navigate the pitfalls and avoid making this a gay vs. Christian issue. May brings into the legal definition of marriage the rights of children, and provides sensible guidelines on how to avoid common traps that hinder communications for advocating public policy about marriage. Getting the Marriage Conversation Right includes a substantial section of FAQs at the heart of the conflict. Marriage is the only institution that unites kids with their moms and dads, and that has been recognized by every culture, society, and religion, each according to their own competencies. Getting the Marriage Conversation Right shows how to get that interest recognized in laws, societal institutions, and individuals, and begin to rebuild a marriage culture.
“This communication guide is an invalu-able resource for answering questions and explaining what is at stake for the future of marriage and the rights of children if marriage is redefined. Every family should have one.”
—Raymond L. Flynn, former U.S. Ambassador to
the Vatican and Mayor of Bost
