Prince
Prospero
Characters’ names are used to contribute to the symbolic context of an allegorical story, which is seen in “The Masque of the Red Death”, by Edgar Allan Poe. Prospero, the Prince, suggests financial prosperity. He exploits his wealth and ignores the intrusion of the Red Death in his kingdom by locking him, and his friends, up in his lavishly adorned castle.
