Railways, towns and country planning :

The experience of France and Sweden

November 27th 2012

KTH, Stockholm, Sweden

The objective of this meeting is to share the experience of France and Sweden on the different aspects of railways, and its role as a tool for towns and country planning. During the day, the seminar will cover the different aspects of railways, including intercity connections (in both dimensions of increasing existing network capacities as well as developing high-speed rail), commuter rail, and intra-urban transport (subways, tramways…). Building on this public event, the business community attending the seminar will be given the opportunity to hold B2B meetings in a separate room with the French companies participating to this event.

Founded in 1974, FIMOR manufactures yearly thousands of polyurethane rubber sheets. FIMOR, known as world leader for its serilor® screenprinting squeegees sold over 80 countries, is ISO 9001 & 14001, and has a total of 80 staff members located in Le MANS (France), SARASOTA (Florida-USA) and DONGGUAN (China). This new product has been designed with the triple concern to satisfy the SNCF and European agencies’ specifications, which are highly selective, to ease the positioning over the concrete sleeper during the delicate casting process, and finally to offer an economical solution for large volumes involved thanks to an automated continuous casting. A direct mechanical grip into the vibrating concrete, without bonding material nor embedded geotextile grids. The pads (USP) FIMOR cling into the vibrating concrete with highest tear résistance, longer life cycle and improved size tolerances.

itiView revolutionizes the preparation of travel and visits by giving your clients the chance to take a dynamic guided virtual visit of their itinerary beforehand. Its exclusive features are:

Virtual navigation in 360° high definition images. Enriched by signage and information elements. A new and exclusive feature: itinerary search. Available on Internet and also on mobile and tablet platforms.

Studies have demonstrated the difficulties encountered by public transport users when finding their way in places where they have to change (stations, airports, exchange centers).

These difficulties tend to reduce the use of public transport and require operators to implement significant material and human resources to alleviate them, as traditional information tools, (maps and plans in paper or Web versions) are sometimes inadequate.

For a traveler, the public transport experience can be broken down into two step: "before", corresponding to planning the trip "during", corresponding to the trip itself

itiView proposes to help the traveler during the trip planning phase thanks to its exclusive tool, a solution enabling him to discover the steps in his trip on his own and anticipate any difficulties before leaving. itiView relies on the use of images, a universal vector, and on the possibility of"navigating" within them by clicking on links. Compared with paper supports, this technology has the advantage of being easy to update and accessible round-the-clock on the traveler’s computer or mobile phone.
