Holiday Show GREENWICH The Fields of
the Lord Cooperative Parish invites everyone to kick off the holiday season with an evening of a cappella Christmas music by the Racing City Chorus at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 in the Greenwich High School audito-rium.
The Saratoga-based chorus, a
chapter of the B a r b e r s h o p H a r m o n y Society, is the
area’s busiest and best men’s a
cappella chorus. Quartets from the chorus will also entertain, including Primrose Lane, the 2011 Northeast District Seniors Quartet Champions.
The Racing City Chorus is under the direction of Rich Gervais, a 24-year member of the society who has directed and sang in church choirs and acted in several area produc-tions. Fifteen-year-old Foster Mann, a student at Greenwich Central School who caught the “barbershop bug” at the cho-rus’s 2010 show, is the group’s newest member.
During intermission, a bake sale will be held to benefit the GCS Music Department.
Tickets for the show are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students ages 13 to 18. Children 12 and under are free admis-sion. Proceeds will be split between the Greenwich and Cambridge area Food Pantries, and mission projects of the churches involved.

Hoosick Falls Central School Drama Club will present Agatha Christie’s famous murder mys-tery “And Then There Were None” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2 in the high school auditorium.
The play, Christie’s most famous work, tells
the story of ten people, each with some-thing to hide, who are invited
to a lonely man-sion on an island by
a host who never appears. Cut off from the world, they start to share their darkest secrets and one by one, they start to die. Christie wrote the stage play herself, and was involved in the original screenplay when it was filmed for the first time.
The performances will open with two short comedies writ-ten by Mark Harvey Levine. The first, “The Jar,” is a fun, quirky and poignant show about bugs being trapped in a jar. The second short play, “A Case of Anxiety,” is a hysterical look into a reality wehre the worst-case scenario always hap-pens.
Refreshments will be avail-able in the cafeteria during intermission. Admission to the presentation is free, and open to the public.

The event is sponsored by the Greenwich Women’s Service Club in association with the Greenwich Central School District’s FFA, FBLA and National Honor Society Clubs. All proceeds will benefit Operation Santa Claus and local community projects.

Candle Making ClassesAt Betterbee
Just in time for the holidays. At our facility in Greenwich, NY Betterbee will be holding a beginners candle making class using beeswax. You will go through all the steps from a block of wax through the melting process, preparing and pouring molds. Participants will leave with a votive candle in addition to a seasonal candle or taper that you made yourself! Even better, at the end of the class you will take home everything you need to make all-natural beeswax candles at home except a pot to boil water and the stove to do it on. This beginners class is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7:00P.M. on the 6th of December. The price for this class is $89.00 and includes all the materials you need to continue candle making. Already making candles? Contact us about an advanced class in candle making where you will learn the tricks and techniques for making hand-dipped tapers, purifying your own wax and advanced molds techniques and bring your hobby to the next level. All classes will be taught by Travis Kline, owner of Cambridge Candles, a natural beeswax company. Travis is a teacher, artist, and candlestick maker. He graduated from Bennington College with a Masters in Teaching and Fine Arts. Since then, when not teaching art at Burr and Burton Academy High School, he has taught at museums, art centers and summer classes. Primarily a sculptor and photographer, he fell in love with the medium of wax bymistake after discovering a chandlers cabinet at a garagesale. Festival of TreesSHUSHAN Celebrating an old
tradition of decorated trees and local crafts, the Georgi Museum in Shushan will host a week-long Festival of Trees starting on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the muse-um on Adams Lane.

Since their first appearance together at Fort Salem in 2009, the Singing Anchors have per-formed at venues throughout the Capital Region, including shows at the Linda Norris Auditorium in Albany, broad-cast on WAMC, and a stint head-lining Saratoga’s First Night in 2011. Most recently, they per-formed their salute to Broadway musicals, “The Singing Anchors on Broadway,” at Fort Salem this summer.
Benita Zahn of WNYT has garnered Emmy Award nomi-nations and received numerous honors for her charitable work.
