On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the men of Phi Sigma Kappa will present their 10thannual event Mud on the
Tires. The men invite all sororities on campus to participate in the activities, which include tug of war
and an obstacle course all in the center of a massive mud pit. However the event is not just for fun and
games, a part of the competition to raising money for Phi Sigma Kappas philanthropy, the Oklahoma
Special Olympics.
Alpha Omicron Pi has won the past four years in a row, said Keisha Davis, Kansas senior. It feels great

representing in raising the most money for a good cause. Its important to our chapter to not only
compete, but to never forget the cause of why we do it.
Other than doing all the physical activities that the sororities have to compete against each other for,
they are also required to raise money for the Special Olympics. Last year over $1,500 was donated.
My favorite part of this event is delivering the check to the Special Olympics, said Steven English,
President of Phi Sigma Kappa. It is great to give back to them and be able to help send athletes to
competitions.
The event is at 5 p.m. on property that the fraternity owns next to the NSU intramural.

presentable, said Cash Bridges, Glenpool senior. Wednesday afternoon, well have the fire
department come out and fill the pit with water before everyone comes out. This year is the tenth
anniversary of the event, so we have high expectations for this one. This is typically the biggest single
philanthropy event on campus so were hoping to keep it that way, and weve decided since its the
tenth anniversary were giving out separate awards for donations and athletic events this year to
encourage more competition,
