FOX VALLEYCOMPOSITE SQUADRONFox Valley Composite Squadron is the local unit of theCivil Air Patrol (CAP). CAP was started December 1,1941 by a group of people concerned about aviationand security in the US. The early members of CAP flewtheir own aircraft in a variety of tasks from courier serviceto search and rescue to coastal defense.
Today, CAP has three basic missions: Search & Rescue, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education. CAP does over 95% of all Search & Rescue in the US. The adult members fly Cessna 172, 182 and other aircraft with a variety of tools on board. The ground teams of Search & Rescue can be either adult or cadet members and are trained for both urban and country tasks.
Cadets are young boys and girls 12 to 18 years old. They are offered an opportunity to learn many different skills from leadership to flight to Search & Rescue. Leadership is learned as the cadet advances thru the stages of the cadet program.
CAP is an all volunteer organization. We receive no pay for what we do. You do not need any special training or skills to join, just a desire to help. Since 1941, CAP has been there protecting and serving America.
