we, the fotoimpex team, are delighted that you show interest in our products and services. We hereby hand over to you our most recent catalogue.Fotoimpex´s purpose is to preserve the art of traditional argentique photography.In Novemeber of 1992 we started our small business importing efke / ADOX films. In 1993 we started the first western european distribution for foma films. Today FOTOIMPEX is exporting worldwide more than 3000 traditional silver products to over 30 countries. North America and the UK are served via our partner companies fotoimpex.uk and fotoimpex.us.

Our exclusive ADOX line of products is produced according to the recipes and on the machinery from the 1950ies. These wonderfull old shool emulsions produce rhich grey scales and wonderfull tonality. Yet they are more demanding to the photographer during treatment compared to more modern, sta-bilised materials. In return they are also more flexible if treated in alternative processes and give different results based on the process used to optimize creative possibilities.

TIPS&TRICKS

Please read bevore using our fi lms and papers:

Not any fi lm harmonizes with every developer and not every darkroom safelight is safe for every paper.

We often get „complaints“ from our custo-mers of a kind like: „The fomaspeed or ADOX papers are no good. They don´t develop any contrast and it all looks grey and souped. My Ilford paper was always fine- it must be your paper beeing bad...“

OR

„The ADOX film sucks it is completely grey and without any contrast. It can´t be the drug-store down the corner who did the proces-sing, my Ilford film was fine !“

Why Fotopaper does not develop any greyscale and contrast if it is fogged by the safelight:

Photopapers are „blind“ for some colours but not for all !Not all Photopapers are desensitized the same way. Whereas Ilford papers are usually very safe to most common safelights our pa-pers are not. So if a paper XY does not fogg under a given safelight you can´t automatically derive from that that any other given paper will be safe to use as well.By any means this is NOT a reason for filing a claim. You have to check your lab BEFORE ordering a paper for safelight colour and type and if you screwed up and bought the wrong paper you have to use it up in a different lab or in total darkness (not as bad as it might sound now). All our photopaper will work under stan-dard dark red lightbulbs (Phillips).However they are most likely to fogg under yellowish, orange or greenish light.Here´s a quick test: Take a sniplet of paper and place a coin on it fixing the coin with your thumb. Moove the paper SLOWLY around in your darkroom, letting it pass every spot it would walk through in a normal process (e.g. enlarger, developer dish until fixer dish) for 5 minutes. Then (and this is the most important thing“: Turn off your safelight totally and deve-lop the paper sniplet in total darkness (If you would not do so the area where the coin was placed would fogg as well and the test would be useless). Then stop it fix it and wash it.

Now turn on the bright white light and exa-mine your paper sniplet. If you can see where the coin was placed your darkroom safelight foggs the paper and needs to be replaced.Please also keep in mind that exposition of a paper adds. So even if you think the paper is only slightly fogged and you are willing to live with this, the effect will worsen once pre-ex-posure from the enlarger is given to the paper and the safelight foggs on top of that.

Why the drugstore might do well in developing a universal fi lm like HP 5 but will totally ruin ADOX CHS 25.

Black and white films need to be developed individually. Each film uses a different time in a given developer. This process is not stan-dardised like the color developing process is. Large labs and even custom labs doing mostly colour processing might simply not know an ADOX, efke, Maco, Lucky or Foma film. In result they also don´t know how long to develop the film and from this point on it will be pure luck to receive a well developed (proper contrast and speed) film back. The film will most likely end up beeing either too contrasty or too soft and grey looking. In theory their film folter machines which run at 38 degrees C and pull in the last frame in the front while the top of the film already shows ready fixed and washed at the end might be capable of developing our films but if the guy operating the machine does not know what time to select you can forgett it. Also some old shool emulsions will not survive 38 degrees as this is simply too hot for them and las but not least at 38 degrees certain short developing times as needed for low speed films might simply not be possible to set on the machines dial wheel.

To sum it up: Universal films like Kodak TMAX or Ilford Delta and HP 5 can be handed to these stores but our unique films have to be processed manually or you have to send them in to our custom lab for developing. Prices for individual hand processing are given on the opposite page.

Why are there points in your catalogue next to some products ? (•) Answer: Our range of prodcts is large. We try to cover almost every aspect of photography. In order to make it easier for beginners to find products which are easy to use we have rated our goods in terms of complexity in use.(•) means that this is an easy to use product and everyone who has basic knowledge and follows chemical handling guidelines should be able to get a decent result on the first try.(• •) means that this is a medium difficult to use product and that we recomend begin-ners to avoid this product on their first days of trying out photography. Prices and whats new ?The framing of our price tablesSome products we have marked with diffe-rent frames in the pricing tables (see german catalogue for tables and pricing). Some are on special and some are new.

We always show two prices. „netto“ and „brutto“. Netto menas price without sales tax. This price we charge to export customers from outside the EU or from professional european customers outside Germany who can provide a valit tax exempt number (VAT number). Brutto we will charge for any sale inside Germany (no matter if you are a profes-sional or not) and for any sale within the EU where you cannot provide such a tax number. You will then be charged the price you see (in the brutto column) including the german sales tax and will NOT have to pay any additional fees in your country.At this point we charge 16% VAT and from January 2007 on it will be raised to 19%. netto brutto

Individual fi lm proces-sing of your B&W fi lms

We develop your films manually in a 35 L deep tank using ADOX ATM49 developer which yields negatives of the highest possible speed whilst keeping the film grain extraordi-nary small.All films are fully manually sorted, matched and processed. Each film gets its individual time according to our film timetable which covers 95% of all exisisting B&W films and is continuosly updated.After this the films are cut with scissors and put into clear archival film files.Contact sheets are printed on 24x30 cm matt RC paper.Our developing days are MONDAY, Wednes-day and Friday. All films to be processed on one of these days need to be dropped off in the store the day before a developing day (because we start running the films at 5 AM).They can be picked up on the developing day after 6 PM.We can process all films up to 1 Meter in length (35mm films are looped). So we are able to process MINOX films, Rollfilms, Sheets etc.

When sending in or droping off please advise..

• if you wish just development or development plus conatc sheet(s)• if the film needs to be pushed or pulled.• how many stops over or underexposed the film is to determine the right push factor• if the film was hand loaded or reloaded or over taped which -bloody- film you are dropping off !!!

Fine Art Handmade Prints On Fibre Based Or RC Paper

Your prints will be individually analyzed with a Heiland split grade controller and then fully manually printed, dodged, burned and processed.

Simple retouching included in price if your negatives are clean and unscratched.Please note that retopuching a scratch is so-mething an expert charges thousands of EUR for. Also please note that retouchung always means to add grey or black and not to bleach away black spots (emulsion defects).Because we wirk manually in trays we can porcess RC or fibre based paper.If your negatives are dusty or dirty we add a cleaning charge of up to 100% of the prints price.If in doubt please contact our staff BEVORE placing the order.Formats of more than 30x40 cm force us to drag out larger dishes and mix more chemi-stry. Therefore we ask you to please make it a minimum of 2 prints of a larger format than 30x40 cm. Else we will add 10 EUR for the setting up and cleaning of the trays.Images can be mixed.

BLACKANDWHITEFILMS

Samobor near Zagreb - Home of the ADOX CHS Films.

These films were introduced by ADOX in the 1950ies and quickly became the preferrd films for reporters. In those times when lightmeters were inaccurate or very expensive they preferred the wide exposure latitude of the 50 and 100 ASA films.The film has an ultra high silver content enabling it to produce rhichest grey scales and many tonal differences between black and white.Pictures captured with ADOX film „come to live“ in the print. „ADOX adding the grey to black and white“.If developed in sharp working developers such as ADOX APH 09 the film develops a visible edge effect and very high accutance and detail depth.Because of its low diffusion single layer technology the film is ultra sharp compared to modern multi layer films where the light will be diffused when penetrating through the different layers.CHS stands for Cubiccrystal Heterodispers Single- Layer, which means the emulsion is made up of classic cubic crystals which are mixed in different sizes and coated in one layer.The 25 speed film is the finest grain film with a classical behavior of low speed films.This means for example the film is gene-rous against under exposure or reciprocity effect but can´t cope with over exposure because it can´t shield itself from too much light.Also it´s latidute is not as high as those of faster films.For beginners we recomend the ADOX CHS 50 or 100. The 50 has almost the fle-

xibility of the 100 yet almost as fine a grain as the 25.This makes the ADOX 50 the prefered film out of the range. It has finer grain and bet-ter tonalities than modern 100 ASA films, yet almost the same effective speed in cer-tain developers.The CHS 100 is the highest speed film which can be made based on this old tech-nology. In the 1950ies it was called a „high speed film“. Beeing the fastest film it has the widest exposure latidute and contrast range but also develops the largest film grain out of the ADOX family. So especially with this film you might want to use ADOX ATM49 developer because it will yield a much smaller grain than Rodinal or APH09.If you use Pyro developers the ADOX CHS 100 can reporduce almost one full more zone of copy range compared to more modern films.This makes it an excellent sheet film as grain does not matter so much in a large format.ADOX films are supplied as KB, 120 and sheetfilms. We even produce strange film sizes like 127 or resized 620.All rollfilms (120 films) are supplied in dust-proof light protecting black plastic contai-ners.

Please put used films back into these containers to avoid penetration of light.Always keep your baths constant at 20oC when pro-cessing films out of the CHS range.Old fashioned films will show effects like shrinkle grain when processed faulty. Many modern films are to a high degree resitant to this.Please prewash sheetfilms to evenly dissolve the supercoating to avoid developer-streaks.Please handle the wet emulsion with extreme care. It is softer than the emulsion of modern films. If necessary please add a hardening bath (either put some hardener in the stop bath/fixer or dilute 5ml of hardener to 1 Liter of water and pre-harden the sheet-films before putting them in the tray. Please readjust your developing time after pre-hardening.

ADOX® CHS 25 • CHS 50 • CHS 100 Films (was efke®) [••]These films are old shool emulsions which are still produced according to the old ADOX formulations which were intro-duced in the 1950ies. For years we have been selling this film under the efke label, now it gets back it´s original name: ADOX. Using ADOX CHS films your view on the world is the one of the 50ies and 60ies. It has a great tonal range, colour separation and modulates differently from modern films. ADOX CHS films have their own feel and look to them. Especially when pictures are dominated by blue sky the areas in the sky produce a very nice darker grey compared to more modern films giving the images a different depth and look.

BLACKANDWHITEFILMS

These films can be dropped off at any B&W lab because developing times and kinetics are identical to HP5 and FP4.Whereas CHS films should always be processed by hand the CHM films can run through machines even at 38oC (if it absolutely has to be...).The films are forgiving and flexible.Especially the CHM 400 has an extreme exposure latitude and can be exposed (when pushed) until 1600 ASA.Because of it´s ruggedness these films tend to reproduce scenes more constantly compared to CHS films yet you loose a bit of freedom of expression if you like to change your films appeal through alternative processes.

All rollfilms (120 films) are supplied in water and dust prrof black plastic containers to avoid the influence of any harmfull gas, light or chemistry when transporting them back to the lab.

ADOX ORTHO 25 [••]Orthochromatic film with 25 ASA.

Ortochromatic films are superior sharp and have an ultra high resolution because the silver haloides do not need to be sensitized to red.If used as a taking film it needs to be deve-loped in a softer working developer or in a universal developer.If you use a regular equalizing developer such as ATM 49 your negs will be possible to print but you might need soft or pre-exposed paper.Basically the film is the same as the Internegative film but it has a real film emulsi-on (as compared to a paper emulsion) which makes it more demanding to produce and mucht higher in resolution.Just put a negative on top of the internega-tivefilm, sandwhich it with a glass plate and place it under the enlarger.There you are with a perfect quality slide from your neg. If you enlarge on the film use the cheaper internegativfilm. if you make a 1:1 sandwhich or want to use this as a taking film in high quality or subminitaure cameras take the ORTHO 25 film.The 35mm film can be reversal processed to a slide because of its clear base.Spectral response: 380 until 610 nmASA: 25Has an anti- halation layer.Resolution up to: 330 L/mm

ADOX CHM Professional Filme [•]The raw material from the CMS series comes from a factory in the UK and is spooled and confectionated by ADOX only. These films are modern multi layer films with a hardened emulsion and easy to develop. It is an excellent allround film for everyday use if you don´t want to pay too much attention to film proces-sing or prefer to drop it off at a local lab.

ADOX Creativ Internegativfilm [•]Lithfilm on a clear base. The “transparent photopaper“ for many different applications such as internegatives or display prints.

Orthochromatic paper emulsion on a clear film base.Ideally suited for making internegatives or slides from a smaller negative onto the film using an enlarger.For high resolving films and contact printing use the ORTHO 25 film as this is a film emulsi-on (and thus finer grained as the Internegative film).The internegativefilm is perfect to make large internegatives for palladium printing or other alternative processes or disply prints.The films behaves like photopaper because it is mainly a photopaper emulsion coated onto a film base. But please be carefull in your tray not to scratch it !In order to control the contrast of this slightly harder working film use different developer dilutions or a soft working developer.The internegativefilm has about 50 ISO-P and can also be used as a taking film for pinhole cameras.The films effective speed is dependant on the amount of blue light hitting it.This is why you need to set your exposure meter to a value between 6 and 25 ASA.There have also been succesfull atempts to reversal process the Internegative film to make slide or negative dupes for display purposes or cyanotypes which need to be exposed with UV light.

BLACKANDWHITEFILMS

The special monodiosperse ultra high reso-lution emulsion of the film makes it possible. The AHU anti halation layer inbetween emulsion and base material guarantees for sharpness precenting any halation effect.ADOTECH developer brings perfect half-tones and increases the speed to 20 ASA and you create images no one would possibly believe to have been made with a 35mm camera.ADOX CMS 20 has an orthopanchromatic snsitization which differentiates perfectly between the different colors. The CMS „sees it all“ no green filter necessary in por-trait photography. The film´s base is totally transparent making it possible to reverse it and use it as a ultra-highresolution slide film with extreme projec-ting possibilities.

Once you shot this film you never want to use anything with less capabilities unless you have too because of a lack of light.Think you can´t shoot at 20 ASA ? Let us explain this to you:If you want high resolution pictures you need to open your lens aperture to one stop below maximum opening. Otherwise the lens defraction will lower your lenses resolu-tion down to half of what this film can cap-ture. Best lenses are F1,4 high speed high quality lenses like Nikkors, Summiluxes, Rokkors or Canon lenses.This puts you effectively to between F2 and F4.Any normal winter day 2 hours after sunrise and up to two hours before sunset will give you something like a 125th or a 250th of a second at F 3,5. Therefore the film can be used under almost any condition where it makes sense to use it because there is actually something to see.More speed would force you to stop down too much on a sunny day, letting slip what your lens can actually achieve.In bad light conditions the film makes no sense because you barely see something

so you might as well use a lower resolving film to capture this.Basically you can shoot everyday with this film unless the sun is gone or behind heavy clouds or you want to shoot indors without a flash.All CMS images in the catalogue and on the ADOX webiste (www.adox.eu) are shot free hand at F2,8 with a 35mm or a 50mm lens.

ADOTECH CMS developerIf developed in ADOTECH you can expose CMS 20 to 20 ASA and get images with perfect halftones.In low contrast situations and with prolon-ged developing times the achievable speed increases to up to 32 ASA. Other than common microfilm developers ADOTECH is very resistant against streaking or producing turbulence- clouds next to the film holes. Still you have to use some gene-ral caution in agitating the filmtank.Bottle with 50 ml to process 5 films.

ADOX® CMS 20 [••]No other film is sharper, no other film is more fine grained, no other film resolves more lines per mm (up to 800 l /mm). If used in pictorial photography the film achieves 20 ASA of usable speed in ADOTECH developer. If used for high con-trast purposes the usable speed increases to 80 ASA. If developed in non dedicated low contrast developers (HC 110, cafenol etc) it can be exposed at 6-12 ASA. The film achieves grain free enlargements of up to 2,5 meters in image diagonal. This equals mathematical about 500 Megapixels. 12 Megapixel, which is todays standard in high end digital cameras equals 2,4% of 500 Megapixel. This just as a little comparison on the side....

Based on modern technologies Foma created mixed emulsions which feature both the advan-tage of cubic crytals films combined with the fine grain tabular grain films (fomapan 200).Foma films are fine grained, feature rhich grey scales and are very flexible in exposure.When you pull a foma negative out of you tank it looks somewhat grey and falt on the first look (simila to Agfa films) but when printing you will notice that it fits onto grade 3-3,5 easily produ-cing full tonal scale prints.In 1996 Foma introduced ISO 9001 quality managment, long before the country became a member of the EU in 2004.Foma films have been tested very good in seve-ral German photography magazines throughout the 90ies.Fomapan 100, 200 and 400 are very close and good replacements for the vanished Agfa films.Yet they are not copies of Agfa or even identi-cal. There are differences and you have to give it a few shots in calibrating your process again and maybe you want to test with different deve-lopers too in order to achieve back the look and feel you had and liked about Agfa´s films.The main difference is that Foma films do not fully achieve their rated speed in all developers out there. Based on the developer used you might want to shoot you fomapan 400 at 320 and your fomapan 200 at 160 in order to get full shaddow detail.Foma films feature a very effective blueish-gray anti halation protection within the films base material. Thus the negative films will not be clear after fixing. However this does not matter at all in terms of photographic properties.Developed in ATM49 Foma films are very fine grained and achieve their true speed.

Fomapan 100R Slide fi lm [•••]

This film is produced on a perfectly clear base material and produces slides of a wonderfull tonality.Foma has incorporated colour film E-6 anti halation into their b/w film making it extremely effective and the negatives very sharp.However you will need to reversal process this film as a standard negative development will NOT dissolve this anti halation and the negs will be unusable. Foma sells a reversal processing kit together with it´s films.If you are a darkroom newbie please do NOT use this reversal process or if and you fail

please do not complain: you have hereby been warned, reversal processing is rather complex and almost for sure your first roll will be ruined !

Double 8 and 16 milimeter fi lms [•]

For all 8mm cameras with metal spools (NOT for super 8 plastic cartridges).100 ASA, panchromatically sensitized.All Fomapan R films are direct positive films intended for the reversal process.This film has been made to have identical kinetic and processing data as Kodak motion picture films so they can be processed together with Kodak films in one go. ANDEC in Berlin (030/6917036) can do the processing for you if you don´t want to do it yourself.The film price includes neither the processing nor the shipping from and to the reversal lab !

Foma Films Foma produces black and white materials since 1921 in the northern bohemian town of Hradek Kralove (Königgrätz).During communistic times Foma was famous for their colour fi lms and papers (Fomacolor) which were exported all over the eastern block countries making Foma one of the largest photographic factories in the world. Today Foma is producing black and white fi lms, X-ray fi lms and non destructive testing fi lms for engineering purposes. In the middel of the 90ies Foma de-veloped all new black and white emulsions which are relateively close to Agfa´s fi lms in their look and charakteristik. Foma is also the only producer who makes true direct positive 8mm fi lms.

CLASSIC PAN 200 and 400 Films [••]These films are beeing producd according to our paramters in Hungary.They are classic emulsions which round off the ADOX film portfolio in the higher speed range. The Classic 200 is still a single layer film, the classic 400 because of its speed a multi layer film with pre-exposed encapsulated silver halides.

All in all the classic films have a slightly thicker layer but this does not mean they contain more silver than the ADOX CHS films because there is no direct correlation between emulsion thick-ness and silver content with films.Both films are very well suited for alternative processing and large format photography.The classic 400 film is especially intended for indoor tungsten photography because of its superpanchromatic sensibilisation which gives it the little extra reserve wehn using tungsten lamps that other films lack.In return it drops of in speed if shot outdoors under blueish light (blue hour just before sun-set).The films feature a „straight curve“ which makes them especially suitable for zone system work.The 200 comes out very nice in ABC pyro developers.The classic 400 is one of the grainiest 400 ASA films featuring a very nice „straight“ grain which makes it sharp and brings out the detail contrast nicely. There are many fans who use sharp working developers like APH 09 to even ekcentuate this grain more and use it a s a means of expression.However if shot at 35mm you might want to consier a fine grain developer like ATM 49 for your first rolls. For large format work, where grain does not matter so much, all the benefits of a sharp working developer like APH09 are welcome.

We recomend the use of hardener in the stop bath or fixer as these classic film emulsions are not as hardened as modern film.

We can also cut sheetfilm sizes not listed on the right. These films will be shipped on special order with a delivery time of about 8-12 weeks.

Rollei R3 FilmNew fi lm with 25-6400 ISO [••]ROLLEI R³ is a multispeed 3 layer film which can be exposed to 25 until 6400 ASA if de-veloped in the coresponding rollei developers (highspeed developer or lowspeed develo-per) at the given time.You cannot expose the film between 25 and 6400 ASA with different exposure and expect all images on the same film to come out perfectly !Most other developers will bring this film to inbetween 100 and 200 ASA.The film is superpanchromatically sensitized to about 710 nm.The anti halation protective layer is coated directly onto the clear base inbetween emul-sion and film making it very effective.The film comes on a clear base making it suitable for reversal processing (slides).

Rollei IR 820Infraredfi lm with a base speed of 400 ASA. Sensitized until 820 nm [•••]Base speed refers to the film´s speed if all of the ineteger under the spectral curve can be used for exposure (in other words: if you do not appyl a red or IR filter and shoot it as it is not making use of its IR capabilities). Once you start using IR filters you have to keep in mind that cutting out of the films spectrum will have a different effect on the films remai-ning speed than the pure density of the filter which is measured by your exposure meter.The only time you can go by your exposure meter reading would be if you apply a neutral grey filter. On the first film we recomend to braket with plus minus 3 fstops to calibrate your equippment to the film.The film is coated onto a clear base and has an anti halation layer. Thus you do not have the same aura effect like with Kodak HIE unless you over expose and under develop the film. The film is made as a KB and rollfilm 120. Packs of 10 KB films or 12 rollfilms 120 come in a nice Rollei beechwood box.We also sell individual films but because the supplier only makes a full set in a box we have to sell those in their film sleeves or canisters without a paper packing. Not that this matters in terms of the photographic properties it just does not look as nice.Recomended Filters: Heliopan IR 665 nm up to 715 nm not above. Filters are covered in the filters section .

Rollei PAN25 Low speed high resolution b/w fi lm with 25 ASA [•]panchromatically sensitized.Spektral response: 400 – 650nm;Very fine grain and high sharpness. Compa-rable to ADOX CHS 25 but NOT the same film.

Rollei RETRO100Rollei RETRO400 Medium and high speed universal fi lms [•]

These films are cut from the remaining AGFA APX masterrols from the lates batch AGFA coated.

They are fine films at a fair price and can be supplied as KB or 120.

Rollei ORT 25Ortochromatically sensitized fi lm [••]This film is blind for red colors which makes it interesting to shoot landscapes with it. The film is mainly used for making high resolution reproductions from monochrome negatives which can be processed under a dark red light without fogging the film.If developed in special low contrast devel-opers it will reproduce a full tonal range of greyscales.

Can be reversal processed to a slide becau-se of its clear base.Spectral response: 380 until 610 nmASA: 25Has an anti halation layer.

They mainly produce technical films and also have a licensed XRay film production for Kodak running.Lucky films are coated in large numbers thus ensuring a constant (but questionable) quali-ty through the entire lot. Once you managed to cope with these films at least you don´t have to recalibrate your process for about 2 years when a new ship full of luckys hits Hamburg port.Lucky films have been used in the States for many years by freaks who like their total lack of anti halation for creating pinhole images and other artistic work where the lucky alike aura effect seems favourable.Their weird spectral response makes images shot on a lucky look tone in tone with almost no separation between red and blue.If that´s what you like and if you don´t mind playing a little with a weird film lucky films are your product of choice.They are cheap enough to give it a go and see what you get our of them.Please always load the camera in full shad-dow as their clear base together with the lack of anti halation causes the so called light piping effect where light penetrates through the edge of the film sticking out of the car-tidge blurring the film inside.If you want to avoid the aura effect you can underexpose the film and push it but then you loose the shaddow details.

The image on the right was shot with a 400 speed Lucky on a sunny spring day.As you can see the blond hair in the middle, the window on the upper right and the trees on the upper left corner are completely blurred away.So don´t came back later and tell us you haven´t been warned :-)

Kodak HIE High Speed Infrared FilmISO 400/27 [••] bis [•••]True Infrared film with 820 nm sensitization.As with all IR films the effective speed is depen-dant on the type of filter used and the amount of IR light available on a given day at a given time. The films rated speed is 400 ASA if shot without any filter.Please do not rely on your lightmeter when measuring through a red or IR black filter. The filters density is not the filter factor because you are cutting out of the films spectral curve unevenly if you block certain wavelength.So on your forst go bracket the film by +/- 3 f-stops.

Kodak PlusX 125ISO 125/22 [•]Panchromatic film made on ESTAR base.very fine grain for a cubic crystal film. Very stable in storage and tropical proof. Can be retouched on both sides. Probably the most rugged and stable film in the world.

Kodak T Max 100ISO 100/21 [•]Panchromatic B/W film with tabular grains which are placed in layers on top of each other making the film grain almost impossible to see. The film also has a very high resolution, is very stable in storage even under unfarouable con-ditions and has an excellent reciprocity factor making it ideal for long exposure times.Sharpness and greyscales are better repro-duced with Plus-X. Plus X also has a wider exposure latitude. It is up to your personal taste if you like T-grains or prefer cubic grains to get the „real“ film- look.

Kodak T Max 400ISO 400/27 [•]High speed panchromatic film with tabular grain (T-grain). Very fine grained. You can even enlarge to up to 30x40 cm without visible grain. Tmax 400 has an excellent reciprocity factor for a 400 speed film and also a very long shelve life. As with T-max 100 most other film charak-teristics are with a cubic crystal film. TRI-X is therefore sharper, has more greyscales and has

a wider exposure latitude.

Kodak TriX 400ISO 400/27 [•]High speed panchromatic b/w film with classic cubic crystals featuring a fine grain and good resolution. Very sharp and very nice grescales.High exposure latitude. The classic Kodak film for artists and traveling journalists. Has bee used by most famous photographers in the last century.

Kodak T Max 3200ISO 3200/33 [•] to [••]Panchromatic B/W film with ultrahigh speed and tabular grain. At this speed the T-Grains really are of a great use because a cubic crystal film of this speed would be so grainy that you could not use it for many purposes.The film has a true speed of 1600 ASA and is already pushed a stop if shot at 3200 ASA.We recomend ADOX ATM49 developer for Tmax 3200. If pocessed in this developer prints of the size 8x10“ or smaller can be described as:“usable and printable“ Kodak Portra 400 BW (for process C-41) ISO 400/27 [•]Panchromatic b/w film to be processd in the standard C41 colour process.Basically a colour film which is colour blind.Due to it´s multiple layers it is very fine grain and has a very large exposure latitude. Can be processed in any one hour photo lab down on the corner.However the negs will come out brown and might cause trouble in VC filtration if printed onto a variable contrast paper.Note: a brown negative does not have any impact on the colour of the print if you print on black and white paper. The paper does not care for the colour of the negative it only cares for density. The brown prints from a large con-sumer lab which some people like are brown because they are printed onto colour paper and the computer does not know what it´s doing.

Kodak black and white filmsAll Kodak films are of extraordinary quality and stability. Kodak films do not change from emulsion to emulsion and Kodak magaesw to keep all stages of the production ultrastable and controlled. No one else can do this the way Kodak can. All base materials lay flat after drying and the films are ultra resistant against scratches and other mechanical impact during developing.The only problem arising out of this list of glory is that Kodak cannot produ-ce small amounts and is tied to a mass market. Thus all more exotic films have vanished from Kodak´s portfolio with more to go in the near future.

Empfindlichkeit: 125 ASA.Normalempfindlicher Universalfilm für gute durchgezeichnete Negative mit einem kräftigen Bild. Zusammen mit dem HP5 der Klassiker von Ilford, der nicht totzukriegen ist. Ehrlicher Film ohne Schnickschnack und mit beherrsch-barem Kontrastverhalten.Bessere Schattenzeichnung als Delta 100.

Empfindlichkeit: 400 ASA.Hochempfindlicher Universalfilm für gut durch-gezeichnete Negative mit einem kräftigen Bild. Zusammen mit dem FP4 der Klassiker von Ilford. Pushbar bis 3200 wenn es sein muss. Solider Film mit beherrschbarem Kontrastver-halten und gutem Dmax.Zusammen mit Kodak TRIX der Klassiker für die Reportagefotografie.Bessere Schattenzeichnung als Delta 400.

ILFORD DELTA 100 [•]

Empfindlichkeit: 100 ASA.Die Delta Reihe ist Ilfords Flaggschiff.Flachkristalle sorgen für feinstes Korn bei hoher Empfindlichkeit.Gute Durchzeichnung der Negative. Produziert ein zarteres, feineres Negativ als der FP4.Feinkornliebhaber und Kleinbildfotografen wis-sen die Vorzüge dieses Films zu schätzen.Großformatfotografen, für die das Korn vernachlässigbar ist, greifen lieber zu dem altbewährten FP 4 (auch schon wegen des Preisunterschiedes).

ILFORD DELTA 400 [•]

Empfindlichkeit: 400 ASA.Flachkristalle sorgen für feinstes Korn bei hoher Empfindlichkeit.Gute Durchzeichnung der Negative. Produziert ein zarteres, feineres Negativ als der HP5.Feinkornliebhaber und Kleinbildfotografen wissen die Vorzüge dieses empfindlichen und dennoch feinkörnigen Films zu schätzen.Großformatfotografen, für die das Korn vernachlässigbar ist, greifen lieber zu dem altbewährten HP 5.

ILFORD DELTA 3200 [•] bis [••]

Empfindlichkeit: 3200 ASA.Flachkristalle sorgen für relativ gesehen „feines“ Korn bei höchster Empfindlichkeit.Arbeitet natürlich stark grobkörnig bei dieser Empfindlichkeit. Dennoch sind saubere 18X24 Abzüge drin. Der Delta 3200 wird im Gegenatz zum TMAX 3200 auch als Rollfim 120 angeboten- was diesen Film besonders interessant macht.Die „Vierschicht- Zaubertechnologie“ macht den Ilford 3200 etwas besser als den Kodak TMZ 3200 (aber leider auch preisintensiv).

ILFORD XP 2 [•]Empfindlichkeit: 400 ASA.Hochempfindlicher monochromer Farbfilm für S/W Fotos. Dieser Film ist kein echter S/W Film und wird im C41 Farbprozess entwickelt.Er bekommt dadurch ein ganz eigenes „Farb-korn“. Das Negativ ist braun anstatt schwarz- was zu Problemen mit einigen Multigradepa-pieren führen kann (aber nicht der Grund ist, warum die Bilder- so man sie auf Farbpapier matscht- braun aussehen. Braun sieht Farb-papier bei entsprechender Filterung mit jeder monochromen Negativvorlage aus.)Insgesamt sehr feinkörnig und ausgleichend.Kontraststeuerung ist hier natürlich nicht drin, schon weil man den Film ja in der Regel nicht selber entwickelt.Aber konstant gute Standard-Negative, feinkör-nig und sauber durchgezeichnet, dafür legt er sein Filmschnipselchen ins Feuer.

Ilford Schwarzweiss FilmeIlford ist der größte Hersteller von Schwarzweiß Fotomaterialien. Die Qualität der Ilford Filme ist ohne Frage ausgezeichnet. Ilford produziert mit dem Delta 3200 den technisch anspruchsvollsten Schwarzweißfilm der Welt. Er wird in vier Schichten gegossen. Flachkristallfilme heißen bei Ilford Delta und haben eine weiße Schachtel. Die klassischen Filme sind in schwarzen Schachteln einge-packt. Ilford produziert auch einen chromogenen Film für den Farbprozess C41, den XP-2.

Nicht umsonst haben alle Solaris Negativ-filme das Color Foto Prüfsiegel bzw. FotoMa-gazin Testurteil „Sehr gut“ bekommen.

Farbdia FujiFarbfi lme [••]Der Fujia Velvia ist mit seinen 50 ASA eine Legende geworden in punkto Feinkörnigkeit, Farbsättigung und Detailschärfe.Der Fuji Provia 1oo ist der erste Film, der eine RMS Granularity von 8 (!!) erreicht hat. Er ist außerdem ausgesprochen farbneutral. (Graubalance).

Farbdia KodakFarfi lme [••]Kodak Ektachrome Filme sind mit die be-liebtesten Profi-Diafilme.Der Ektachrome G hat eine natürliche Farbwiedergabe und der Ektachrome VS hat eine sehr hohe Farbsättigung und knallige Farben. (Vivid Saturation). Die ultrafeinen Silberkristalle des E100 sind selbst mit dem Kornscharfsteller nicht mehr zu erkennen.Auch als Planfilm Lieferbar !

Solaris EinwegkamerasSingle Use Cameras [•]Preisgünstige Einweg Kameras für den nächsten Polen Urlaub (Schatz hast Du meine Leica gesehen ?) oder für Unterwas-ser- Spässe. Drin steckt der Solaris 400 oder 800 Film. Beide Filme haben viel Reservern bei weniger Licht- was bei einer Kamera, die weder die Zeit noch die Blende einstellen kann, nicht ganz unwichtig ist. Alle Kameras machen 27 Aufnahmen.Das Unterwasser-Gehäuse hält (im Normal-fall) dicht bei bis zu 3 Metern Tauchtiefe. Danach dringt irgendwann Wasser ein....


Rollfilm 127 4x4 [••]Spezial RollfilmEfke ist die einzige Fabrik die noch eine eigene Manufaktur, zur Fertigung von 127er Filmen für das Format 4x4 unterhält. Heraus kommt der efke R100/127, der letzte Film für Kameras wie die Baby Rolleiflex, Yashica 44 oder viele alte Kodak Vest-Pocket Modelle. Der Preis ist, gemessen am Aufwand in der Herstellung, günstig. Der Film hat 100 ASA und es passen 12 Aufnahmen für 4x4 darauf. Das Wickelpapier ist auch mit Markierungen für 4x6,5 und 4x3 bedruckt.Fotoimpex‘ Bromexpress, entwickelt Ihnen diesen Film zum standard Preis und die Abzüge sind auch nicht teurer, als die Handabzüge von einem Kleinbildfilm. Die Negatve passen ausserdem in jede 6x6 Glasbühne. Wenn Sie keinen metallschie-ber haben um das rote Fenster nach dem Transport zu verschliessen sollten Sie in jedem Fall das Fenster mit schwarzem Gewebeband abkleben und nur zum Transport im Schatten kurz öffnen, um Lichteinfall zu vermeiden !

MACOCHROME 127 [••]Spezial FarbdiafilmManchmal geht efke auch fremd. Dann werden auf den efke Maschinen Maco Filme konfektioniert. Heraus kommt ein Macochrome UCR 100 und ein Macocolor UCN 200 im Format 4x4 • 127.Der Chrome hat 100 ASA, der UCN 200 und beide können in jedem Fachlabor mit Hängerentwicklung zur Verarbeitung im E-6 oder C-41 Prozess abgegen werden. Jedes Fachlabor sollte in der Lage sein von beiden Filmen zu printen. Ansonsten kann man sie auch scannen und ausbelich-ten sen. Im Fotoimpex Mietlabor steht ein Hochleistungs-Scanner der dieses Format aufnimmt und bis zu 16 000 DPI scannt.

Dia Rähmchen 4x4 [••]GlasdiarahmenWir haben noch einen Bestand original 4x4 Glas-Diarahmen aus den 60igern gefunden. Eine Packung enthält 20 Diarähmchen. Die Gläser dürfen nach über 30 Jahren Lagerung gerne vor dem rahmen kurz geputzt werden.Dieses Format passt von den Aussen-abmessungen in jeden KB Projektor.Es kann jedoch sein dass das Objektiv an den Rändern vignetiert wenn es eine zu kurze Brennweite (Weitwinkel) hat. Ab 70mm Brennweite sind allerdings keine Probleme zu befürchten.BonColor Diarähmchen für 4x4.

Rollfilm 620 6x6 [••]Spezial RollfilmViele Kameras verwenden das Format 620.Da es dem standard Rollfilm Format 120 sehr ähnlich ist wird dieses leider oft ver-wechselt.Die Folge sind beschädigte Kameras oder Filmriss. Der wesentliche Unterschied ist die Spule. Eine 620er Spule hat dün-nere Seitenwände und einen geringeren Spulenwand-Durchmesser (siehe unten: links eine original 620 KODAK Spule; mitte unsere getrimmte 620er Spule; rechts ein original 120er efke Film). Ein normaler 120er Film wird durch uns mit einer Präzisionsfräse bearbeitet und auf das Format 620 umkon-fektioniert. Da die Seitenwand dabei dünner wird sollte der Film nur im Halbdunkeln ein- und ausgelegt werden. Er wird durch uns nach der Verarbeitung lichtdicht in schwarzen Polybeuteln verschweisst. Da heutiges Schutzpapier nicht mehr für so alte Kameras produziert wird sollten Sie in jedem Fall den Schutzschieber nach dem Transport benutzen oder das rote Transportfenster mit schwarzem Gewebeband abkleben und nur zum Transport im Schatten kurz öffnen.Wenn Ihre Kamera sehr einfach ist und keine Rollenführung für den Film hat müs-sen Sie ggf. bei geöffneter Kamera bis zum Bild 2 Vorspulen damit das Papier nicht reisst !

SPEZIALFILME

Das Kodak-Format 620 wurde bei ein-facheren Box- und Klappkameras verwendet um diese vom Filmmarkt der 120er Filme zu trennen und unterschiedliche Preise auf-rufen zu können. Der Charme dieser alten Apparate liegt in der leichten Unschärfe und Rand-Vignetierung. Der efke Rollfilm 100 wird noch immer nach den Ur-Rezepten aus den 50iger Jahren gefertigt. Er ist orthopan-chromatisch sensibilisiert, hat eine mono-disperse single layer Emulsion und erzeugt wunderbare Grauwerte. Mit diesem Film und einer historischen Kamera erzeugen sie den perfekten Retro-Look für Bilder wie vor 50 Jahren.

MINOX SETAGFA COPEX & SPURFÜR KLEINBILD-QUALITÄT MIT DER MINOX KAMERA [••]Filme plus ChemieDieser Minox Film macht so richtig Spaß. Somit ist der Film praxis-tauglich. Das Set enthält 2 Minox Filme plus der dazugehörigen Zauberchemie und eine ausführliche Anleitung.Wir empfehlen eine separate, saubere Entwicklerdose. Es gibt viele knallbunte Ritschratsch Knipsen aus Hongkong oder den USA, die für das 126er Filmformat gedacht sind. Ein Film hat 24 Aufnahmen. Nach der Entwicklung haben die Bilder in etwa Kleinbildformat. Jedes Labor mit Hängern oder jeder Jobo Prozessor kann diesen Film verarbeiten.

500 Megapixel [••]Ultra- Hochaufl ösungsfi lmeDie Technik wurde bereits in den 70ger Jah-ren entdeckt. Spezielle Entwickler konnten monodisperse höchstauflösende Microfilme auf ein vielfaches Ihrer Empfindlichkeit bringen und gleichzeitig ausgeglichene Grau-werte erzeugen. Dadurch können diese tech-nischen Filme für die bildmäßige Fotografie nutzbar gemacht werden. Das Ergebnis ist verblüffend. Auch ein 1,5x2 Meter großer Abzug von einem Kleinbild Negativ ist noch völlig Kornfrei. Diese Auflösung entspricht rechnerisch in etwa 500 Megapixeln. In den ersten Jahren hatten die Entwick-lungsverfahren noch Kinderkrankheiten wie Schlierenbildung oder Muster in homogenen Grauverläufen. Inzwischen ist das jedoch behoben. Foma 8 & 16mm FilmeSchmalfi lme [•••]Normal 8 mm Kameras erkennt man daran, dass die Filmführung zur Kamera gehört und nicht in die Patrone integriert ist, sowie an den zwei Spulenkernen im Filmfach. Normal 8 Filme werden nach der Hälfte herumge-dreht und laufen ein zweites mal durch die Kamera,wobei die andere Hälfte des Films belichtet wird. Nach der Entwicklung wird dann geschnitten. 16mm Kameras belichten das volle Filmformat. Entwicklung siehe oben ANDEC.

POLAROID FilmeSofortbildfi lme [•]Mit Polaroid Filmen kann man viel Spaß haben und ernsthaft arbeiten.Besonders der Typ 665 und Typ 55 (Planfilm 4x5“) liefert neben dem Sofortbild ein fixierbares Negativ (Natriumsulfitlösung) für spätere Abzüge.Dieses Negativ hat dann den stylischen Polaroid „Chemie-Rand“, der, vollformatig geprinted, dem Bild einen individuellen Aus-druck verleiht.Die anderen Filme (Typ 669, 59, 559, 809) liefern kein Negativ, aber man kann zum Beispiel mit dem Emulsionslift-Verfahren das Pola aufschneiden und anstelle auf den „einge-bauten“ Träger auf einen beliebigen Untergrund (zum Beispiel Bütten-papier) aufbringen. Die Bildweißen werden dann vom Farbton der Unter-lage bestimmt und das fertige Bild sieht aus wie wenn es auf den neuen Untergrund „gemalt“ worden wäre. Arbeitet man vorsichtig, wird das Bild so übertragen als wenn es ursprünglich auf dem neuen Untergrund belichtet worden wäre. Durch „Quetschen“ der Emulsion kann es aber auch gezielt verfremdet werden.Auf der Polaroid Webseite findet Ihr noch viele weitere Anleitungen für Negativ Positiv Verfremdungen und Transferverfahren. Natriumsulfi t [•]Zum Klären von Polaroid NegativenNA2SO4 Siccum Photograde zum Herstellen von 400ml Hypo Bad zum archivfesten Aus-fixieren von Polaroid Negativen der Polaroid Film-Typen wie z.B. 665 S/W oder 55.Fixiert man die Negative nicht, werden sie in kurzer Zeit unbrauchbar (nur das Negativ natürlich, nicht das Positiv). Einfach in in 300 ml warmem Wasser auflösen und mit kaltem Wasser auf 400ml auffüllen, Negativ 4 Minu-ten hineinlegen, Wässern- fertig ! Reicht für ca. 1-2 Filmpackungen.
