INSTRUCTIONS

1. Cut out paper fortune and color in characters.

2. Make sure the fortune is face side up. Fold fortune in half twice.

3. Flip fortune over (so the characters or numbers aren’t showing)and begin to fold corners into the center of the square. You will startseeing the characters flip over. This will create a smaller square.

4. Now flip the fortune over so you just see the fortune phrases.Fold in the corners again to the middle of the square. You will nowsee all of the numbers on one side.

5. Fold the fortune in half twice so that it creates a solid crease.

6. Now, take your fingers and place them under the Velma and Daphneillustration. Pinch the crease. Do the same thing underneath Shaggy and Fred.Pull both halves up and in, so that the characters are now standing up right.

7. Make sure all of the numbers are in the inside of the fortune teller andthat the characters are on the outside. Ta-da! You have created your fortuneteller. Now it’s time to play!

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME

FORTUNE TELLER

1. Begin with the thumb and index fingers of each hand in the four pockets of the fortune teller. Have the person whose fortune is being read pick one of the characters. If the person picks Shaggy, spell out the letters of “Shaggy” while alternating a pinching and pulling motion with the teller. Each pinch will expose four of the numbers on the inner flaps, and each pull will expose the other four numbers.

2. After spelling out S-H-A-G-G-Y the teller will be showing one of the sets of four numbers. The other player will then pick one of those numbers, and the responding action is the alternating pinch and pull from the first round, except it continues with a counting of the number instead of the spelling of the character. Once the number has been counted, four numbers will be exposed. Pick one of the numbers and read your fortune!
