FORTUNE 500 and FORTUNE 1000 GEORGIA AND METRO ATLANTA RANKINGS 2014 Bolstered by Atlanta’s corporate dominance, Georgia ranks ninth among states with the most FORTUNE 500 headquarters according to the June 2, 2014 issue of FORTUNE magazine. Seventeen companies headquartered in Georgia rank among the latest FORTUNE 500, with 31 among the FORTUNE 1000. Approximately 85 percent of these companies increased revenue from the previous year, a testament to the strengths of Georgia’s business advantages. Atlanta ranks third among cities with the highest FORTUNE 500 concentration, behind New York and Houston, and these three cities are the only ones in the United States ranked in the top 20 for Global 500 company headquarters locations. In the past five years, three new FORTUNE 500 companies moved to metro Atlanta: First Data (ranked No. 261), NCR (ranked No. 423) and PulteGroup (ranked No. 446), relocating their global headquarters to metro Atlanta from Colorado, Ohio, and Michigan, respectively. Previously on 2013 FORTUNE 1000, metro Atlanta-based Asbury Automotive Group is now a 2014 FORTUNE 500 company ranked No. 472. In 2014, FORTUNE 500 PulteGroup was added to Atlanta’s powerful corporate line-up, although not in time for FORTUNE magazine’s data collection cut-off, thus it is shown as coming next year. Georgia-based companies, ARRIS Group and Ocwen Financial Corporation are new 2014 FORTUNE 1000, further solidifying Georgia’s global financial standing. As more firms take note of Georgia’s key advantages – technical and professional talent, transportation and market accessibility, coupled with moderate cost of business and attractive business climate – more move to the state. Bolstered by Atlanta’s corporate dominance, Georgia ranks ninth among states with the most FORTUNE 500 headquarters according to the June 2, 2014 issue of FORTUNE magazine.

In the past five years, three new FORTUNE 500 companies moved to metro Atlanta: First Data (ranked

No.
