REORGANIZATION

Fort Bragg School’s grade level structure will be reorganized to reflect….

Two middle schools (grades 6-8) Two primary schools (grades PreK-2) One intermediate school (grades 3-5) Seven elementary schools (grades

PreK-5)

Middle Schools

Albritton Middle School – located on Fort Bragg, will house approximately 670 middle school students

New Middle School – located at Linden Oaks, will initially house approximately 480 middle school students

Primary Schools

Butner Primary School, located on Normandy Drive, Butner will house approximately 480 PreK-2nd grade students and will feed Irwin Intermediate School.

Murray Primary School- located on Honeycutt Drive will house approximately 260 PreK-2nd grade students and will feed Irwin Intermediate School

Intermediate School

Irwin Intermediate School will eventually be located on Rhine Road and serve approximately 450 students in grades three through five.

Until completion in 2012, these students will be bussed to the existing Irwin School on Knox Street.

Transportation Costs

Bussing will be reduced approximately 50% in 2011-2012

Bussing will be reduced approximately 60% beginning SY 2012-2013 when the new Irwin Intermediate School opens on Rhine Road

Only two buses will be travelling between post and Linden Oaks (middle school students from Pope to New Linden Oaks Middle School).
