Formulation : The action of devising or

creating something; It is a particular expression of

thought, idea or theory

MEANING :

Project : An individual or collaborative enterprise planned & designed to achieve an aim

PROJECT FORMULATION : It is defined as “taking a first look carefully

& critically at a project idea by an entrepreneur to build up an all-around beneficial to the project after carefully weighing its various components”

In short Project Formulation is a process

whereby the entrepreneur makes an objective & assessment of the various aspects of an investment proposition of a project idea for determining its total impact & also liabilities.

INTRODUCTION :• Different organizations & agencies sponsoring a project have their own specific requirements & formats for writing project proposals but an attempt is made to discuss the essential features of an acceptable project proposal.

• Sponsoring agencies usually specify the no. of copies of the research proposal they require.

• In many cases the sponsoring agencies/financial agencies specify certain schemes or programmes for which they provide financial & other assistance

Benefits of project formulation

Main function is to provide “a view to acquaint the entrepreneurs with a format that can serve as a model for them when they seek financial support for their enterprise.

To avoid delay and in certain cases non-acceptance of the proposal

Objectives of study on Mendhalekha

To understand the elements of mendhalekha’s sustainability, and major threats, challenges and

opportunities that the village faces today. To understand villagers view on how national

and international recognition has helped them, if at all. To understand their views about international

recognition and the processes by which such recognition should happen. To understand how the village has adopted

various methodologies of project formulation

Concerned community The entire population is composed ofthe Gond tribe. There areapproximately 400 people in thevillage, largely without any caste orclass hierarchies

Is the community considering itself an indigenouspeople?

Yes – people from the Gond tribeconsider themselves indigenouspeople.

Is the community local per capita income inferior,basically the same or superior to national value?

Per capita income is inferior (but this isnot taking into account the availabilityof the resources which reduce the need)

Is the CCA recognised as a protected area bygovernmental agencies?

Yes – In 1992, the State declaredmajor portion of the 1900 hectares asReserve Forest (leaving only about 350hectares for villagers to meet theirneeds)

Utilization of Project formulation @ Mendha lekha

The financial problem of gond community have been solved

Project formulation helped to raise the total income

The community based entreprise - need of every small village

Not only the economical Status but Social status also improved

Project formulation helped in deciding objectives and final Goal

Conclusion :

We have concluded that “Utilization of project formulation in social & individual entreprise can really make a Difference”
