The given table compares and contrasts the various constituents pertaining to changes in the consumption of 5 different categories of food and drinks. It covers span of 21 years from 1980 to 2000 with special reference to USA. A closer view to the diagram highlights the fact that, diet in America became more fibrous as great amounts of vegetables and fruits were eaten with less proteins, milk and alcohol but not soft drinks. More specifically, vegetables were the most popular type of food in both eighteenth and twentieth as it was 337 pounds in the eighteenth, this figure rose dramatically to reach 425 pounds in the year of 2000. Fruits, which occupy the second rank of food consumption over the same period, its figure remained almost constant as it hovered around 275 pounds. On the other hands, protein usage showed some distinctive popularity, red meat usage showed dramatic drop hitting 113 pounds in the 1990 from 126 pounds in 1980. This fall continue in the next decade to reach 112 pounds. in contrast, the poultry consumption soared gradually from 41 to 67 pounds in 1980 to 2000 respectively. Drinks also showed some differences, although milk and alcohol entered the eighteens with same consumption levels of 28 gallons, both declined slightly reaching 1990 with figures of 26 and 27 in order. These figures continued to go down in the beginning of the millennium

On the other hands soft drinks continued to be the most popular dink as it rocketed about 11 gallons in only 10 years as it was 35 in the 1980. That swift rising slowed down in the next decade to be 49 gallons in the year of 2000.
