Introduction

Hunt Executive Search is proud to present The Hunt Global 100.

What is The Hunt Global 100, you ask?

It is the definitive collection of lists profiling the top global compa-nies throughout the Consumer Goods, Food and Beverage, and Life Science industries. This is the first edition of this annual publication.

The Hunt Global 100 is intended to provide its readers with an accu-rate, up-to-date evaluation of the current climate in the CPG World, as well as the market positioning and momentum of its biggest play-ers.

By examining our data, you will be able to gage your company’s per-formance against your competitors. Whose major acquisitions are paying off? What companies are divesting assets? How has change affected everyone’s bottom line?

Staying plugged into the ever changing landscape of the CPG indus-try has never been more important. Domestically, as CPG manufac-turing and sales decline, it is imperative to position your company to adapt and survive. The Hunt Global 100 will help you understand whose strategies are presently working, and how you can position your business to thrive in the future.

In 1996, leaders from four of the nation’s leading milk cooperatives – Associated Milk Producers, Inc., Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., Milk Marketing, Inc., and Western Dairymen Cooperative, Inc. – gathered to discuss strategies for surviving in a consolidating world. As milk processors and grocers grew larger and more national in scope, the regional structure of cooperatives could not keep up. These four co-operatives realized a shared vision – to unite their talents, leadership, markets and capital into a single, stronger cooperative better able to work for the dairy farmer. On January 1, 1998, DFA was formed.

Methodology

The Hunt Global Lists represent the concerted effort of Hunt Ex-ecutive Search to present a focused, comprehensive, and accurate

ranking of the industry leaders who operate in the consumer goods markets. The definition of consumer goods, CPG and FMCG might mean different things to different people and may be inclusive or ex-clusive of certain industries. This variable necessitates further deline-ation to gain full understanding of the space, which is why in The Hunt Global Lists include Top 100’s in different categories.

Our methodology for collecting, and sorting this data is relatively straight forward. For publicly held companies, we utilized information gathered from most recent annual reporting’s and SEC filings, and cross reference with other public stock information.

For privately held companies, we rely on a variety of data at our disposal to publish a “best estimate.” This data is gathered from key company executives, press releases, and additional published and non-published information. While these estimates may not be absolutely accurate to the dollar, they do allow us to appropriately position these companies and provide a more comprehensive look into the Consumer Goods markets than if they were otherwise excluded.

Companies are ranked by total Net Revenue/Sales/Turnover. A com-pany qualifies for these lists if any portion of their business is catego-rizes as Consumer Goods.

Page 124: Food & Beverage Edition

Methodology cont. The Hunt Global 200 is inclusive of companies whom derived sales from the manufacturing of any of the following: Fast Moving Con-sumer Goods, Food and/or Beverage, Consumer Health, Personal Care/Beauty, and Household Products, but may exclude consumer durables such as apparel, appliances, games, jewelry, etc. Please note, the afore listed categories are simply representative and not compre-hensive.

Information regarding the methodology of the category specific lists can be found at the conclusion of each list.

All revenues are published in $US Dollars. Any conversions from foreign currencies were made using the exchange rates from the most recent quarter from which we updated the company data. While the rates admittedly fluctuated, they did not experience enough move-ment to significantly affect the data or positioning of the affected companies.

Any revenue growth reported, in terms of both percentage and gross change, does not factor in any changes regarding the relative strength of the currency in which they were reported. Our calculations use specific financial data only. Any additional inferences made regard-ing growth relative to currency strength or any other variables are at the reader’s discretion.

While our research is thorough, and the data reported is accurate to the best of our knowledge, it is not guaranteed to be without error or omission. It should not be used for investment purposes or other business decisions.
