FOAM SHOOTING FIREARM PROP LIST

The following list of approved firearm representations is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. As multiple companies release multiple foam projectile pieces every year, it is impossible to have a list that represents all companies and all models. Instead, we have reviewed many of the most commonly used pieces. If you are a company that wishes to have your product tested and then listed for use, feel free to review our guidelines and contact us to send samples for review. In the instance that you intend on modifying your equipment either cosmetically or performance wise, you must have your foam launchers reviewed for safety by your local Director. This includes painting your gun, since safety and legal guidelines require particular areas of your gun to be outlined in orange to show that they are not real firearms.

In this list are also a number of “bow shaped” foam projectile toys that are acceptable for bow physical representations. These items were never originally designed to fire arrows, and with that, cannot be legally considered a “bow” in regards to region, state, and federal guidelines. As the legal definition of a “bow” changes town by town anywhere from “sports equipment” to “lethal weapon” to “firearm” we do not allow the usage of actual bows at any Dystopia Rising LARP Network event.

You should also review what legal guidelines exist for foam projectile toys in your area. While it is not commonplace, there are a few areas that have outlawed the public carrying of toys that physically operate similar to firearms, or, have the same general visual appearance as firearms.
