Choosing the right pumpThere are a wide range of pumps to select from. In order to find the right pump size, that matches the system requirements, the duty point for the system
must be calculated. Then a suitable pump can be chosen from the performace curves. For more detailed analysis, please contact your ITT Flygt representative.
1. Calculate the duty point (a) for the system.
2. Choose a pump model from the family of curves that match the system requirements.
3. Choose curve (b) according to calculated duty point.

IntroductionThis series of pumps covers an extensive performance range and can be used in a variety of applications: from pumping sewage in treatment plants and municipal applications, irrigation and industrial effluent to process water and raw water handling and application in aqua and agriculture.
The hydraulic sections, i.e. impeller and volute, are designed for applications in which the waste water is either clean, or between slightly and moderately contaminated, and for handling solids.
The standard version of these pumps, are made in cast iron and for more demanding applications the pumps can be supplied in industrial configuration. Special models are also available in explosion-proof versions.

C 3000
Design - small pumps
1. Cooling. Motor casings with integral cooling ribs.
2. Motor. Squirrel-cage induction motor with 2, 4 or 6 pole windings. The stator insulation system is Class H (rated 180 °C) allowing up to 15 starts/hour.
3. Cable junction chamber. The junction chamber is completely sealed off from surrounding liquid and incorporates separate gland assembly with strain relief clamp.
4. Pump/motor shaft. Common pump/motor shaft and compact seal design. Rotor and shaft dynamically balanced as an integral assembly.
5. Bearings. Pre-greased rolling element bearings. Bearing calculations are made for 50000 hours of duty all to ISO standard.
6. Shaft sealing. Two independent mechanical face seals assembled in tandem provide reliable and durable sealing performance and maximum resistance to abrasion and thermal shock.
7. Oil casing. Oil filled housing for lubricating and cooling mechanical seal units provides an additional leakage barrier.
8. Impeller. Dynamically balanced single and two vane versions to
accurately match required performance. The NevaClog® impellers are available for various models.
9. Pump casing. With smooth profiled volute geometry for clog-free
operation. A spiral groove (SPIN OUT®) in the pump housing protects the outer seal by expelling abrasive particles from the seal chamber.
10. Wear rings. Replaceable for high pumping efficiency.

Design - medium pumps
1. Cable junction chamber. Sealed terminal chamber with separate cable gland assemblies incorporating strain relief clamp.
2. Motor. Squirrel-cage induction motor with 2, to 8 pole windings. The stator insulation system is Class H (rated 180 °C) allowing up to 15 starts/hour.
3. Cooling. Motor casing with integral cooling ribs for maximum heat dissipation. Larger motors are equipped with outer cooling jackets for the circulation of a portion of the pumped liquid or external water supply.
4. Pump/motor shaft. Common pump/motor shaft and compact seal design. Rotor and shaft dynamically balanced as an integral assembly.

Product identityITT Flygt uses a simple system to code and thereby identify its products. Each pump is given a code made up of two letters followed by four numbers, e.g., CP 3085. The first letter refers to the pump’s hydraulic section, i.e., the impeller and volute. It also refers to the pump, as the impeller used determines the pump type. The second letter refers to the pump’s method of installation: semi-
permanent free-standing, permanent dry vertically mounted, portable etc.
The four numbers refer to the pump’s model as well as specify its size in comparison to other pumps of the same type. Thus pump CP3085 is larger than CP 3067.

Impeller and volute
Methods of installation
Single vane impeller. The size of the channel comparatively large. Used
when good solids-passing is needed.
Multi-vane impeller. Used in applications with clean or slightly
contaminated water.

A semi-permanent, free-standing installation. Transportable version with
pipe or hose connection.
For semi-permanent wet well installations. The pump is installed with
twin guide bars on a discharge connection.
A portable solution with hose coupling or flange for connection to a discharge
pipeline.
A vertically-mounted, permanent dry well or in-line installation with flange
connections for suction and discharge pipe work.
A horizontally-mounted, permanent dry well or in-line installation with
flange connections for suction and discharge pipe work
