    Beyond Rio +20

From Millennium Goals to Sustainable Goals

Twenty years after the first Rio Conference in 1992,

the follow-up conference Rio+20 was held in 2012 in

the same place. With high-level participation from

governments, the private sector and various NGOs,

it was hoped the conference, whose slogan was The

Future We Want, would heraldthe beginning of a new era in environmental policy

and international cooperation. What do the new

development targets focus on and how do they fit in

with the debate on Green Growth and Green Econo-

    my?

In this interactive seminar, international students will

have an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn the

merits and problems of global development goals,

whereby special emphasis will be placed on experi-

ences gained by the developing nations of the world.
