Workshop, 3PM: Extended Techniques – A tool for better intonation Our facilitator will be Sarah Plunkett. Sarah has a BA in Flute Performance from Denison
University and is currently a MM candidate in Flute Performance at Ithaca College. Sarah
conducts the Ithaca College Flute Choir. The workshop will explore better intonation through
balance and listening by using extended techniques.
Sight Reading, 4PM: Expand your choir’s repertoire by sharing pieces
Each choir will bring and direct a performance piece while the rest of us sight
read. This is a great opportunity to discover new music for your choir!
Rehearsal & Fellowship, 5 - 7PM
Concert, 7PM: Each choir will play 5 to 10 minutes and the concert will end with a
combined choir. Janet Diehl, a founder of Fingerlakes Flutes, will conduct our
combined choir piece. Ms. Diehl is a graduate of Ithaca College, has studied with
greats such as Jean-Pierre Rampal, and has been conducting and arranging for
flute choirs over 30 years.
