Newsstand SelfieThe magazine that caught my eye the most was

Florida Sportsman. The reason that it caught my attention was because it is a fishing magazine, and fishing is my favorite pastime. Furthermore, what sets this magazine apart from other magazines is that it only features fish that are caught in Florida. The specific magazine that I bought is from a prescription that I receive. I have saved this magazine because there is an article on good fishing spots near my area. The cover also appeals to me because there is a large grouper, and grouper is one of my favorite fish to eat.

Newsstand Visit I learned that placement of the magazines is very

important. I noticed that all the magazines were organized according to category. I also noticed that the colors black, white, and red were used very often. My magazine caught my attention because of the genre. The articles also caught my attention. The design style that I liked the most was a magazine with the central image taking up most of the cover, with only a little bit of text towards the left side. I also liked that the central image was overlapping the title of the magazine. The colors were also pleasing, because yellow goes well with blue.

Florida SportsmanFlorida Sportsman is about fishing in Florida.

The magazine edition that I bought is specifically about bottom fishing, which caught my attention because I need to improve my bottom fishing. The target audience is a middle class male who enjoys the past time of fishing. The articles are about various species of fish and the most effective strategies towards catching them.

The central image on Florida Sportsman magazines are all of people holding fish. The species of fish varies depending on the cover and the content. The person, or sometimes people in the photo are posing and holding up the fish that they caught.

The photos on the cover are all taken outside, usually on a boat. There are a picture that were taken on kayaks, but all of the pictures are taken on the water with the ocean in the background.

Favorite Cover ImageThis cover is my favorite because it features snook, one of my favorite fish to catch. It was also caught using a fly rod, which as an enjoyable, yet not common method of catching snook.

The most common colors on two of the table of contents pages are the colors blue and white. They all mention what is on the cover. Furthermore they all have a featured section and a departments section. The center table of contents on the last slide is from an older issue, but the right and left ones are from newer issues and they have the same layout. The featured image is on the top right and the stories are to the left and under it .

Both of these articles start on the left page. They both have large pictures on the first two pages, with very little text, and then lots of text on the next two pages. The articles are not formal, but rather have interesting background images and graphics. They also both explain how to catch the targeted fish. They do not relate to the cover because it is a different species of fish.
