Multi-dimensional flipping

✤ When students are doing more projects in the classroom...

✤ Teachers gain better understanding of how each student learns...

✤ iTunes U content ecosystem can lead to a “flip” along another axis...

✤ In <-> Out flip leads to Teacher Centered <-> Student Centered flip

Final thoughts

✤ Flipping instruction from in-class to out-of-class is the easy part

✤ Shifting mindset and skill-set to use class time for project-based learning is a significant challenge

✤ Student-centered classrooms can be “messy” and “chaotic”

“The transition is a difficult one, and I think once you’ve transitioned, it still always takes a lot more work, reflection, and patience than traditional models, but it’s definitely worth it.” - Shelly Wright (@wrightsroom)
