Photopolymer Printing PlatesExcelsior offers premium photopolymer plates to suit Printers’ current and ever-changing needs. Our industry leading 4800dpi Ultra-E HD imaging system combined with our innovative flexo dot screening offer printers a high quality production experience. We use proven direct to plate technology to consistently produce high quality photopolymer plates at 23 million pixels per inch for reduced dot gain, finer highlight dots and crisper line work on your printed piece. Photopolymer plates are available in thicknesses ranging from .045 to .250. In addition, digital plates are reproduced consistently and quickly to help minimize make-ready-time on press in a market that demands fast turn-around and Ultra high quality.

Flexo Print PreparationWithin the pre-press phase, Raster Image Processing (RIP) software supports the creation of high quality files that maximize material efficiencies. It is during this time that Excelsior pre-press specialists incorporate step and repeat patterns, bearer bars, distortion factors, and any custom marks or plate scribes that the client specifies. We also factor in dot gain compensation, linearization and trapping specifications.

ProofingOur proofing technology produces a genuine color-accurate halftone proof of contract-proof quality. A contract proof saves time and money by virtually eliminating problems further down the process such as incorrectly separated plates that result in poor color reproduction, press downtime and scrapped materials. PDF proofing (also referred to as digital or soft proofing) is quite simply a PDF file that is emailed to you so you can review the layout, text and images.
