New phase control relay
flare CONTROL P3 The product family of phase control relays by Wieland Electronic is
extended by the two types flare CONTROL P3-L and flare
CONTROL P3-LTN. These devices have a width of only 22.5 mm
and are designed for phase and voltage control in industrial
application environments.
The basic version flare CONTROL P3-L controls the phase failure,
phase sequence and phase position in 3-phase power systems
within a voltage range of 200 to 500 V AC.
In comparison to the basic version, the flare CONTROL P3-LTN
version provides additional control functions like the voltage

balance control. Additionally, the response delay as well as the
connected power voltage is adjustable.
A phase imbalance is caused by an unequal load distribution within
the individual phases. In this case, part of the energy is converted
into reactive power. With this, the efficiency of a connected motor
and the thermal load will increase, if applicable, until breakdown.
As standard, the devices are equipped with a changeover and
several diagnostics LEDs enabling a selective error search.
The relays meet the relevant standards and have been approved in
accordance with, amongst others, UL and CE for application
worldwide.
Besides this new series, the comprehensive Wieland Electronic
interface product range has been extended by several new product
series on the areas of time relays, analog isolation amplifiers,
Ethernet switches, power supply and surge arresters.
All these new products can be found in the current "Interface"
catalog available under order number 0056.0 (German) or 0156.0
(English).
