PHYSICAL ACTIVITY - is any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that result in an expenditure of energy.

What does that

mean? We do not have to be an all star athlete to be physically active. Playing outside with

our friends, walking to school and participating in gym class are all examples of

physical activity.

Five Components of Physical Fitness

Body CompositionBody composition refers to the amount of fat-free tissue and fat tissue in the body. Fat-free tissue is made up of muscle,

bone and organs.

Although everyone needs fat on their body, too much can

be unhealthy. Too much body fat can make it difficult to play

and be physically active because we are carrying

around unnecessary weight. At a healthy body weight we should feel comfortable

in our clothes and feel energized to play.
