First Steps: Installation of SAP enhancement package 5 forSAP ERP 6.0

This First Steps document gives you an overview of the various sources of information that areavailable for the delivered SAP product SAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0. Itcontains important information and current amendments to existing documentation (such as SAPNotes and Internet addresses). The document also describes how you access the SAP ServiceMarketplace and where you can find help for the delivered SAP product.The abbreviation EhP is used for enhancement package throughout this document.

A) First Steps to Installing SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0

If you do not yet have a user for the SAP Service Marketplace, create one as described insection B.1).

In the SAP Service Marketplace you will find the documents you require for planning SAPERP installations and upgrades. For more information about the documentation, see sectionB.3).

SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 is a delta shipment for SAP ERP 6.0 and requires an SAP ERP6.0 installation. Consequently, the technical prerequisites for installing SAP EhP 5 for SAPERP 6.0 are minimal. We recommend you import SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 as part of yournormal maintenance procedure. To do this, add the support package stack to the SAP EhP 5for SAP ERP 6.0 import queue. For more information about the minimum requirements, seeSAP Note 1324838. For more information about the Support Packages, see section B.4)Support and Maintenance.

For Information about SAP ERP 6.0, see the SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide andthe SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide. SAP ERP EhP 5 is based on SAP ERP 6.0. Depending onthe key capabilities you required, determine the necessary SAP ERP software componentsand instances, as well as the corresponding system landscape. If you are planning to upgradeexisting software components, consult the information in the SAP ERP 6.0 Upgrade MasterGuide too. Make sure you always use the most up-to-dateversion of the documents. Before you start to install or upgrade the first system, you have to install the SAP SolutionManager or update the existing version. This is a technical requirement for performing

installations and upgrading SAP ERP 6.0 systems. For more information, see section B.5) SAPSolution Manager.

Based on the information contained in the Media Information chapter of the SAP EhP 5 forSAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide and the SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide, determine which of the datacarriers in the package you require for installing or upgrading the respective SAP ERPsoftware components.

Install or upgrade the software components as described in the installation / upgrade guides orinstallation / upgrade notes.

B) Important Information and Sources

B.1) Prerequisites for the Use of the SAP Service Marketplace

Requesting a User ID for the SAP Service Marketplace

To request a user ID for the SAP Service Marketplace, go to service.sap.com and chooseRegistration at the top right of the screen. To register, you need a valid e-mail address and yourcustomer or installation number, which you will find on the delivery note for this shipment. Youruser ID enables you to access all SAP information and support channels.

Your user ID also enables you to create customer messages. For more information, see the SAPService Marketplace at service.sap.com/message.

B.2) License Keys

When installing an SAP system, a temporary license key is created automatically. The key is validfor four weeks. You must apply for a permanent license key immediately after you have installedyour SAP software. (For further information, see SAP Notes 94998 and 870871.) You apply forthis license key on the SAP Support Portal at service.sap.com/support Keys &Requests License Keys or at service.sap.com/licensekeys. To do this, you need theLICENSE KEY ASSIGNMENT authorization. (Further information is available on the SAP SupportPortal at service.sap.com/user-admin.) If you have any problems or questions regardinglicense keys, create a customer message for component XX-SER-LIKEY. In case of problemsregarding user administration, create a customer message for component XX-SER-SAPSMP-USR.

B.3) Documentation

Master Guides

The SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide and SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide are the startingpoints for planning an SAP ERP system and component landscape. They contain informationabout a minimum SAP landscape, the required software components for key functional areas inSAP ERP 6.0, the installation sequence, the data carriers required to install or upgrade SAP ERPsoftware components, and so on.

The SAP ERP 6.0 Upgrade Master Guide is the starting point for planning upgrades in an SAPERP system and component landscape. For example, it describes for defined processes the stepsrequired to upgrade the individual software components, the upgrade sequence, and samplesystem landscapes.

The online documentation DVD, which includes SAP Library for SAP ERP 6.0, is part of thisshipment. You can find the documentation for the business functionsthat are delivered with the enhancement packages on the SAP Help Portal (help.sap.com) at SAPERP SAP Library Business Function Sets and Business Functions.

The documentation of the new or enhanced applications in the enhancement packages is heavilyoriented on the content of the business functions. This applies to the system documentation andthe SAP Library. For information about installing the SAP Library in the context of theenhancement packages, see the documentation DVD that is part of the software delivery (the"Readme" text) and SAP Note 1066110.

Maintenance Strategy

Mainstream maintenance for SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 is oriented on the maintenance of theunderlying SAP ERP 6,0, and ends on March 31, 2013. For more information about themaintenance strategy, see service.sap.com/maintenance.

Support Package Stacks

You can download all the available SAP Support Packages and patches for SAP EhP 5 for SAPERP 6.0 from the Software Distribution Center in the SAP Service Marketplace atservice.sap.com/patches.

SAP recommends you always install the latest SAP Support Package stacks. Support PackageStacks constitute a set of SAP Support Packages and patches.

Support for Partner Products

While running SAP software, you may encounter errors that are caused not by the SAP productsbut can be traced back to the database, operating system, hardware, or other applicationproducts, for example.

Note the following when requesting support for such problems:

Case 1: The product was purchased through SAP.This applies to the following products: Java Virtual Machine CrEme for PocketPC, specificmobile device drivers approved by SAP, the database IBM DB2 Everyplace for SAP MobileInfrastructure 2.5 and the databases MS SQL Version > 7, Oracle RDBMS, Informix Onlineserver, DB2 UDB or application products (for example, by Requisite). In this case, SAP isyour contact for support and assumes responsibility for finding a solution together with theproduct vendor within the scope of the SAP Maintenance Agreement.

Case 2: The product was not purchased through SAP.

1. This applies to all other products, such as all operating systems and hardware,as well as the database IBM DB2/400, non-SAP application products, anddatabase administration tools/functions, if applicable.The contact for support for these products is the product vendor. If the error wasoriginally reported to SAP, SAP Support forwards the message to the respectivepartner’s support organization. SAP has agreements with all partners that clearly

define the procedures for forwarding these customer support messages.Note that the partner only provides support if you have a valid support contractwith the product vendor for the product in question. Note also that the agreedservice times (weekends and nights, for example) are an important component inthis contract.

2. Check whether your support contracts match our partners’ recommendation orthe above-mentioned conditions and, if necessary, contact the partner or serviceprovider for the partner products directly.

B.5) SAP Solution Manager

With SAP Solution Manager, SAP provides you with a platform that supports the implementation,operation, and continuous improvement of SAP ERP 6.0. Using SAP Solution Manager enablesyou to take full advantage of SAP’s support services and gives you the opportunity to leverage thebroad spectrum of SAP's support and continuous improvement offerings.

SAP strongly recommends using SAP Solution Manager to determine the software componentsthat need to be installed so that you can use the desired business functions. A minimumrequirement is to have SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Support Package 23 installed in the SAPSolution Manager system. The Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer (MOpz) enables you toselect the technical usages to be installed. For more information about the implementation, seeSAP enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 Master Guide, or the SAP enhancement package5 for SAP ERP 6.0 Upgrade Master Guide, if you want to upgrade from a previous SAP EhP.

During the installation process, a SAP Solution Manager system is required to generate the “SAPSolution Manager Key” for the installation of SAP SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0. Without this keyyou cannot complete the installation process successfully.

Perform the following activities with SAP Solution Manager as part of your SAP ERPproject:• Define your system landscape.• Connect existing systems to activate the EarlyWatch Alert.• Define the relevant SAP ERP 6.0 business processes for your implementation.

Additionally, SAP recommends you:• Document, configure, and test the business processes you have already defined• Train end users how to use SAP Solution Manager

If you are using SAP components based on the JAVA stack, install and use Solution ManagerDiagnostics for root cause analysis.

Accelerated Implementation of SAP ERP 6.0

With "Implementation Content", SAP provides a wide range of knowledge relating to theimplementation of integrated, cross-component business processes and scenarios. Itsupplements the functional footprint delivered with SAP Solution Manager. You can deploy thisknowledge during system implementation by using the delivered "Implementation Content" as thestarting point for your project work. SAP Download Manager

SAP strongly recommends you use SAP Solution Manager to download the software componentsyou need to install for SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0. The Solution Manager MaintenanceOptimizer (MOpz) enables you to select the technical usages (TU) to be installed.

However, you can continue to use the SAP Download Manager to download software from theSAP Software Distribution Center. This is available in the SAP Service Marketplace atservice.sap.com/download-basket Get Download Manager . If you have any problemsor questions relating to the SAP Download Manager, you can create a customer message forcomponent XX-SER-SAPSMP-SDM.

Ordering Software on CD or DVD

As an alternative to downloading software from the SAP Software Distribution Center, you canalso order software on CD or DVD from the SAP Software Shop in the SAP Service Marketplace.For more information, see the SAP Software Distribution Center at Ordering SAP Software orservice.sap.com/softwarecatalog. If you experience problems or have questions relatingto purchasing software, you can create a customer message for component XX-SER-SWFL-SHIP.

B.7) SAP Enhancement Package Info Center

As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver business innovation to customers withoutdisruption, SAP has created a new area in the SAP Service Marketplace focusing on SAPEnhancement Packages for SAP ERP. These pages present all the information relevant to SAPEnhancement Packages in a clear and structured way, and serve customers as a single point ofaccess. The information ranges from the SAP enhancement strategy in general, through anoverview of SAP EhP 5 for SAP ERP 6.0 – including an overview of new capabilities, potentialbenefits, and business functions – to technical details. As well as much useful information, thepages enable you to access documentation, release information, and test catalogs. They alsoshow possible dependencies. B.8) SAP Upgrade Info Center

The SAP Upgrade Info Center (which, amongst other things, was developed specially for SAPERP), contains information about how to prepare and implement an upgrade to SAP ERP (SAPECC 6.0), structured according to the target release. It gives you an overview of the useful tools,content, and services provided by SAP for the upgrade. One example is the SAP UpgradeRoadmap, which you can use for project planning and monitoring (together with SAP SolutionManager). You can find the SAP Upgrade Info Center at service.sap.com/upgrade-erp.

B.9) Miscellaneous

Using MDMP (Multi-Display, Multi-Processing)MDMP is no longer supported as of SAP ERP 6.0. See SAP Note 79991 for more information.

Consequently, you must convert your MDMP SAP R/3 Enterprise or MDMP mySAP ERP 2004system to Unicode, otherwise you cannot upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0.

Note also that a blended codepage or MDSP is not an alternative – all statements regardingMDMP are also valid for blended codepages or MDSP (including all restrictions; see SAP Note73606).

Single codepage systems (non-MDMP/non-blended codepages) are not affected by thesemeasures. You can upgrade these systems to SAP ERP 6.0 without Unicode conversion. Ingeneral, single codepage systems are supported up to and including SAP ERP 6.0 (with therestrictions described in SAP Notes 858869 and 838402).

SAP recommends the use of Unicode – particularly with new installations (see also SAP Note838402).

Information About Asian Language Versions

You can find detailed information about Asian language versions in SAP Note 749760.

Customers who install the Japanese version are required to change the adjustment parametersfor the Japanese address layout as described in SAP Note 639035.

Important Note for Customers Using the Database Platform DB2 for z/OS

SAP ERP 6.0 runs on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and requires DB2 V8 and DB2 Connect V8. You canfind more information about DB2 V8 releases and release restrictions in SAP Note 728743.

Modifying Add-Ons

If you are using a modifying add-on, make sure that this add-on is valid and can be used for SAPEhP 5 for ERP 6.0 before you install SAP EhP 5 for ERP 6.0. Bei der Installation eines SAP-Systems wird automatisch ein temporärer Lizenzschlüssel erzeugt,der vier Wochen lang gültig ist. Beim Einsatz von SAP-Software können Fehler auftreten, die nicht durch die SAP-Produkteverursacht werden, sondern beispielsweise auf die Datenbank, das Betriebssystem, dieHardware oder andere Anwendungsprodukte zurückzuführen sind.

Hinsichtlich des Supports im Fall solcher Probleme ist Folgendes zu beachten:

Fall 1: Das Produkt wurde über SAP erworben.Dies betrifft folgende Produkte: Java Virtual Machine CrEme for PocketPC, spezielle vonSAP genehmigte Treiber für mobile Endgeräte, die Datenbank IBM DB2 Everyplace für SAPMobile Infrastructure 2.5 und die Datenbanken MS SQL Version > 7, Oracle RDBMS,Informix-Online-Server, DB2 UDB oder Anwendungsprodukte (z. B. von Requisite). In diesemFall ist SAP ihr Ansprechpartner für den Support dieser Produkte und übernimmt im Rahmendes SAP-Wartungsvertrags die Verantwortung für die gemeinsame Problemlösungzusammen mit dem Hersteller.

Fall 2: Das Produkt wurde nicht über SAP erworben.

1. Dies betrifft alle anderen Produkte, z. B. alle Betriebssysteme und dieHardware, sowie die Datenbank IBM DB2/400, Nicht-SAP-Anwendungsprodukte und ggf. Werkzeuge sowie Funktionen zurDatenbankadministration.Der Ansprechpartner für den Support dieser Produkte ist der Hersteller.Wenn der Fehler ursprünglich an SAP gemeldet wurde, leitet der SAP-Support diese Meldung an die Supportorganisation des betreffendenPartners weiter. Hierzu hat SAP mit allen Partnern vertraglich festgelegteÜbergabeprozesse vereinbart.Beachten Sie, dass der Partner nur Support leistet, sofern zwischen Ihnenund dem Hersteller ein gültiger Supportvertrag für das betreffende Produktbesteht. Beachten Sie außerdem, dass dabei die vereinbarten Servicezeiten(z. B. Wochenende, nachts) ein entscheidender Vertragsbestandteil sind.

Nutzung von MDMP (multi-display, multi-processing)MDMP wird ab SAP ERP 6.0 nicht mehr unterstützt. Beachten Sie hierzu SAP-Hinweis 79991.

Infolgedessen müssen Sie Ihr MDMP-SAP-R/3-Enterprise- oder MDMP-mySAP-ERP-2004-System auf Unicode umstellen, da andernfalls kein Upgrade auf SAP ERP 6.0 möglich ist.

Beachten Sie auch, dass eine gemischte Codepage oder MDSP keine Alternative darstellt – alleAussagen für MDMP gelten auch für gemischte Codepages oder MDSP (mit allenEinschränkungen, siehe SAP-Hinweis 73606).

Single-Codepage-Systeme (Non-MDMP/Nicht-gemischte Codepages) sind von den genanntenMaßnahmen nicht betroffen. Ein Upgrade dieser Systeme auf SAP ERP 6.0 ist ohne Unicode-Konvertierung möglich. Generell werden Single-Codepage-Systeme noch bis einschließlichSAP ERP 6.0 unterstützt (mit den u. a. in SAP-Hinweis 858869 und SAP-Hinweis 838402beschriebenen Einschränkungen).

SAP empfiehlt die Verwendung von Unicode – insbesondere bei Neuinstallationen (siehe auchSAP-Hinweis 838402).

Assistance pour les produits partenaires

Lors de l'utilisation de produits SAP, il se peut que vous rencontriez des erreurs dues, non auxproduits SAP eux-mêmes, mais à la base de données, au système d'exploitation, au matériel ouà d'autres logiciels d'application.

Cas n°1 : le produit a été acheté par le biais de SAPCela s'applique aux produits suivants : Java Virtual Machine CrEme pour PocketPC, pilotesde dispositifs mobiles spécifiques approuvés par SAP, base de données IBM DB2Everyplace pour SAP Mobile Infrastructure 2.5 et bases de données MS SQL version 7 etsupérieures, Oracle RDBMS, Informix Online, DB2 UDB ou logiciels d'application (deRequisite, par exemple). Dans ce cas, vous devez vous adresser à SAP pour obtenir uneassistance ; nous nous chargeons, en collaboration avec le fournisseur du produit, de trouverune solution dans le cadre du contrat de maintenance SAP.

Cas n°2 : le produit n'a pas été acheté par le biais de SAP

Ceci s'applique à tous les autres produits, tels que les systèmes d'exploitation etle matériel, notamment les bases de données IBM DB2/400, les logicielsd'application non-SAP et les outils/fonctionnalités d'administration de bases dedonnées, le cas échéant.Pour obtenir une assistance sur ces produits, vous devez vous adresser aufournisseur. 2. Veuillez vous assurer que vos contrats d'assistance satisfont auxrecommandations de nos partenaires et/ou aux conditions précitées. Sinécessaire, contactez directement le partenaire ou un fournisseur de servicespour le produit partenaire.


Avec SAP Solution Manager, SAP vous fournit une plate-forme prenant en chargel'implémentation, l'exploitation et l'amélioration continue de SAP ERP 6.0. SAP Solution Managervous permet de bénéficier pleinement des services d'assistance de SAP et de profiter de la vastegamme des offres d'amélioration continue et de support de SAP.

SAP vous recommande vivement d'utiliser SAP Solution Manager pour déterminer lescomposantes logicielles à installer pour pouvoir utiliser les Business Functions souhaitées. Laconfiguration minimale requiert l'installation de SAP Solution Manager 7.0 Support Package 23dans le système SAP Solution Manager. SAP vous recommande en outre d'effectuer les activités suivantes :• Documentez, configurez et testez les processus de gestion que vous avez déjà définis.• Formez les utilisateur finals sur l'utilisation de SAP Solution Manager.

B.9) Divers

Utilisation de MDMP (Multi-Display-Multi-Processing)MDMP n'est plus supporté à partir de SAP ERP 6.0. Reportez-vous à la note SAP 79991 pourplus d'informations.

Vous devez donc convertir votre système MDMP SAP R/3 Enterprise ou MDMP mySAPERP 2004 en un système Unicode, faute de quoi vous ne pourrez pas effectuer la montée deversion vers SAP ERP 6.0.

Notez également qu’un jeu de caractères mixte ou MDSP ne constitue pas une alternative ;toutes les instructions relatives à MDMP sont également valides pour les jeux de caractèresmixtes ou MDSP (y compris les restrictions ; voir la note SAP 73606).

Les systèmes de page de code unique (jeux de caractères non mixtes/non-MDMP) ne sont pasconcernés par ces mesures. Vous pouvez effectuer la montée de version de ces systèmes versSAP ERP 6.0 sans conversion Unicode. En règle générale, les systèmes de page de codeunique sont supportés jusqu'à SAP ERP 6.0 inclus (avec les restrictions décrites dans les notesSAP 858869 et 838402).

SAP recommande l'utilisation d'Unicode, en particulier avec les nouvelles installations (voir aussila note SAP 838402).

Les clients qui installent la version japonaise doivent changer les paramètres d’ajustement en cequi concerne le format d’adresse japonais, comme décrit dans la note SAP 639035.
