In this role, Vermeulen will be responsible for driving a creative sourcing strategy, partnering closely with leaders across the company to develop strategic hiring plans, and driving the bank’s recruitment branding strategy, social networking, and third party vendor partnerships. “Starr is a tremendous asset to our Human Resources team and to First Citizens,” said Annette Rollins, director of Human Resources at First Citizens. “The knowledge and experience she brings to this role will help us further develop and enhance our recruitment efforts.” Vermeulen joins First Citizens from MetLife Bank, where she served as the lead recruiting consultant for the company’s Sales and Operations divisions. Her career in the talent acquisition industry began almost a decade ago with Kforce Professional Staffing, where she specialized in recruiting for professionals with scientific, and finance and accounting backgrounds. Her clients included some of the largest names in the pharmaceutical industry, such as Merck and Pfizer, and Fortune 100 financial services firms. A native of Tampa, Fla., Vermeulen received her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida, also in Tampa.
