respect. You choose who to invite into your network! And you choose whose invitations you will accept!• Add value to your network – post articles and
information that can benefit your network.• Be yourself – Be real• Post good pictures• Remember you are in a semi-public environment

• Friends can see pages you “Like” or groups you join
• Friends can see all your pictures you post and pictures of you posted by others
• Depending on settings “Friends” of Facebook friends can see some of your information.
• Employers WILL look at social networks before hiring you
Privacy
Privacy• You can change privacy settings on individuals areas
such a your wall, information, photos, videos and public information
• You can setup your privacy so that only certain friends can see certain things
• As you add friends you will want to categorize them so that they fall under the correct privacy setting
• You can view your profile from a perspective of your friend to see what they see

Twitter is a message based micro-blog that is based off of the idea “What are you doing?”
Originated for mobile phone users
Each message is limited to 140 characters
Follow individuals and their tweets syndicate like a news feed
Getting Started with

Keep your status professional
Be sure to use a professional picture
Link your online Resume/CV back to your Twitter profile (LinkedIn Page)
Tweet about you job search or put it in your “Bio”

Never post negative comments about your current job or a past job
Anyone who “Follows” you will be able to see what you post
You can block your tweets from the public, but you will then have to manually accept each person who chooses to follow you

If someone you want to reply to someone’s post, use: @username [message]
Example: @shaffer2385 that was an awesome presentation you gave!

If someone you want to reply to someone’ post, use: dm username [message]

• LinkedIn has a great resource called Linked Answers which has a wide variety of business related categories and subcategories…and they even have a rating system for their “Experts”
• You can join LinkedIn groups to share expertise in within a group setting. You can also meet individual who are not in your immediate network
