However, household economic constraints related to the unrest continue to threaten food security in conflict- affected areas. Additionally, food prices are increasing at a time when household incomes are impacted by substantial unemployment and a reliance on savings. At the same time, the economy is undergoing a political and economic crisis resulting in the decline of GDP growth rates, decline of foreign investments, increase of government debt, and the significant devaluation of its national currency.
