The resulting average volume can be estimated but not guaranteed. The guarantee of the handling capacity is possible only when knowing perfectly the material to be conveyed as it is fed into the plant, the handling route and the site of the plant (with respect to sea level). For the determination of the physical properties of the material, it is possible ta refer to the FEM document n02481 "Definition and determination of physical properties of bulk materials" set up by working group "Pneumatic handling" of section II FEM. 3. CONTINUO US HANOLING

GUARANTEE TERMS FOR PNEUMATIC HANDLING INSTALLATIONS

1. Feeding of the installation:

FEM 2461

edition GB

1983

The satisfactory working at the designed capacity, of a pneumatic handling installation can only be obtained if the feeding by the introduction device (for instance : suction nozzle in a suction system, feeder in a blowing system) is ensured continuously by a free flowing of the material to be conveyed.

If the material is brought to the pneumatic conveyance plant by means of a mechanical system (conveyor, extractor under a silo, ... ) or manually (tipping of bags), the feed shall be regular and continuaus.

2. Determination of the volume and power characteristics :

The indicate volume handled concerns the full rate service. When gathering up the remaining material, or changing the feeding device, or changing the handling circuit, the handled volume may be reduced.

3. Tests preliminary to an order :

After a preliminary study of a problem, the manufacturer may ask the eus tomer for a sample sufficient for testing purposes. If the results of the tests lead ta modify the installation, the offer can be reviewed .

ALI the theoretical values and technical data referring to the plant shall remain the property of the supplier, ev en in the case of the customer having taken a share in the preliminary test costs.

4. Power input on the driving shaft :

The power input is calculated on the basis of aIL the information available mentioned in paragraphs 1,2 and 3.

Except to the contrary and for clearly stated specifications, the power input shall be calculated for an elevation 0 (sea level) and a temperature of 20°C.

5. Wear of the equipment

The parts submitted to a normal wear and tear and the maintenance of which is correctly ensured, such as : compressor, bearings, etc. are guaranteed under the terms of the general conditions of sale.

The parts submitted to a special wear: feeders, elements of the conveyance pipings, etc. cannot be guaranteeed for this wear. However, upon request and without any obligation, indications can be given on the life of these parts in similar installations.

The resistance of the equipment to a chemical corrosion or any action resulting from particular physical or chemical properties can be guaranteed only if the presence of the substance liable to cause such an action is specified in written in the customer's enquiry.

6. Changes in the properties of the handled material :

No guarantees can be given as regards any possible change in the properties of the handled material (grain size, bulk density, etc) during its handling. The manufacturer will only be able to give estimates without any obligation.

7. Volume of air and size of the pipings

When the air supply, compressed or vacuum, forms an integral part of the installation, it is not necessary to specify the volume of air or pipe diameters to the customer in the preliminary stages.

In case the customer provides the air supply, the customer and the supplier will agree on the quantity per unit time, the quality and pressure of the air to be supplied.

8. Emission of dust, loss of material and contamination:

Pneumatic handling being the chosen system for tight conveying of pulverulent or granulated bulk material, the supplier can, upon request, guarantee that :

- there in no loss of material during handling no contamination of the material is caused by agents other than the conveying medium or the interior surface of the appliance along which the entrained material is carried

- emission of dust is limited to the efficiency of the end filter.

9. Sound level :

Guarantees concerning the sound em1SS10n may be decided 1n each case between the supplier and the customer .

10. Tolerance allowed on performance data :

AIl performance data given by the supplier are understood to have a tolerance of ± 10%.
