An extended family is a Nuclear Family plus other relatives. Usually grandparents live with the nuclear family to make an extended family but sometimes it can be aunts, uncles or cousins.

A one parent family is a family where the children are looked after by either their mother or father. There parents live in different places.

A Step Family is created when a single parent marries again. Your parent’s spouse may be childless or their children may live somewhere else. A step family can also be when two One Parent Families live together.
