Full attendance for the entire session is a prerequisite for receiving continuing education credits. This program has been developed and is presented locally by the WV Chapter ACHE. The American College for Healthcare Executives has awarded 6.0 Face-to-Face (ACHE education) credit hours to this session.

Program Objectives:
A successful partnership between physicians and executives can be gained when both sides focus on the hard organizational realities and practice soft-skill strategies for building trust. In this seminar, attendees will learn ways to reconcile the business objectives of healthcare with the transcendent values at the heart of clinical care for your organization. Participants also will learn clear communication tactics that can eliminate false operat-ing assumptions and beliefs, leading to a better understanding between physicians and executives that will re-sult in achieving your business objectives.
• Discuss the facts and fiction of the current market changes including clinical needs, revenue sources and population health management
• Develop and implement successful strategies for leading and managing change and building trust
• Examine the importance of and differences in corporate culture and physician culture • Understand how to create strong relationships as the cornerstone to sustainable partnerships

1. Admission to the chapter function at no cost and 2. A travel stipend for up to $100 travel reimbursement (receipts must accompany request). It would be expected the students will report back their experience and any educational information to the HEN program. If you would like to be considered for a student scholarship present this document to your HEN Program Director (School Faculty) to be considered. The notice of award must be submitted to Program Registrar along with a completed registra-tion form. Program pre-registration deadlines apply to this opportunity.

West Virginia Chapter American College of Healthcare Executives Student Scholarship Program

The WV Chapter ACHE offers a student scholarship and you may be eligible to apply. The objective of the program is to provide students with the West Virginia based HEN (Higher Education Network) an incentive to provide leadership to the local student organization, provide education and networking opportunities for un-dergraduate and graduate students in health care administration, and to heighten awareness of the American College of Healthcare Executives to future healthcare administrators. Program: This program is targeted to the current HEN sites, including Marshall University, Huntington, WV; West Virginia Universi-ty, Morgantown, WV; and West Virginia University – Tech, Montgomery, WV. Annually the West Virginia Chapter Board of Directors will award two scholarships to each HEN site to be used for any Chapter education and networking function. The scholarship award will waive the registration fee, including networking events and provide a travel stipend to the event. For this event the student registration and the dinner fee will be waived for the students awarded the scholarship. Each scholarship recipient will be eligible for up to $100 travel reimbursement (receipts must accompany request). The HEN Program Director will issue the awards, one to a student leading the local student chapter and one to a student at their discretion that demonstrates leadership qualities most reflected by the values and ethics of the ACHE.
