Welcome to our world, where every-one can exist fabulously! We are so happy that you took the time to read, scan, or browse our magazine. Our

plan is to show you how simple a FABexistence can be and how you can incorporate this into every aspect of your life. You can expect various fea-tures from home styling, shoes, accessories, and budgeting. This is a magazine is written by two college students who understand the challenge of living fabulously on a budget. We are here to help you, our readers, overcome that challenge and have a FABexistence everyone should strive for!

FABexistence is breaking societal rules and telling the world: Look I’m living my life to its full potential and doing so FABULOUS-LY, whether you like

it or not! Being fabulous is making a decision for your-self and owning it. So what makes me fabulous: switch-ing from a path of the “safe” health field to a life long pas-sion of mine: FASHION. And guess what…I’m doing it FABUOULSLY because I am not going to fail. In the words of Coco Chanel: “Failure is reached by those who don’t know failure is inevitable.” So my advice is to DREAM without the possibility of fail-ure. Why? Because failure does not exist to one who exists fabulously!

FABULOUSLiving Being Creating EXISTING FABULOUSLY

Letters from the Editors

Making dreams a reality is in my opin-ion one of

the hardest things to do these days. Often we are discouraged by the fear of failure or how other people will per-ceive us, but if we don’t face our fears how will we become anything? About a year ago I went through what has been

one of the hardest times of my life thus far. I was lost and not in touch with myself and what I want-ed. With the help of my true friends and sisters I’ve realized that things happen, but life goes on and I can either get with it or get left behind. I chose to get with it and do me because my happiness is all that matters in the end. So with that being said I am now following my dreams and FABexistence is a by-product. FABexistence is about living a fabu-lous life. This doesn’t mean just material fabulous-ness but also doing things that make YOU happy. It’s all about going for your dreams and not being afraid of what anyone thinks. It’s about knowing that you can do anything you believe in.

So what do you aspire to be? If it’s not FABULOUS then you’re #losing.

“I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concen-trate on what I want to say to the world. I

run my world.” -- Beyonce

SPOTLIGHT: Demi Olubanwo“The Glee Project”

Lagos, Nigeria native and North Carolina State University alum Demi Olubanwo is most known for his stellar photography skills, but recently he embarked on a new project, the Glee Project. Something many people don’t know is that Demi is a “Gleek” and so when this op-portunity arose it was perfect for him. Demi believes he will fit in perfectly into the cast as an African student who spent the majority of his life in Africa and left his family to pursue a better education. This uniqueness to his background would make him an automatic outcast at McKinley High that will push him to find solace in New Directions Glee Club. Recently,

FABexistenceFABexistence sat down with Demi to discuss his upcoming endeavor.

FABexistence: So, you graduated in Decem-ber 2010, what have you been doing since then?

Demi: I’ve been doing freelance photogra-phy, mostly weddings.

FABexistence: How did you get your start in photography?

Demi: I don’t remember my exact start, but I do remember my first camera. My dad gave me a little green camera when I was nine and I used to take pictures of everything, even though I never got them developed. That’s about the same time that my sister got her real camera and, while not knowing what I was doing, I played with hers to try to figure it out. I really look up to my sister, so as she got more serious about her photography, I did as well. I would talk to her about it a lot and when she got to college [NC State], she started doing it profession-ally. When I went to NC State I started taking pictures for the Technician, because they let me use their cameras, taught me how to use them, and paid me, that’s how I got my “professional” start. Then I finally bought my camera that I use today.

FABexistence: So are you a big Glee fan?

Demi: Yes I am, very much so. I love Glee. I have all the music in my iTunes. Like, all the music. The Glee versions usually sound better than the originals to me. My favorite song would probably be “Teenage Dream,” the one sung by Blaine.

FABexistence: The Glee Project, how did you become involved in that?

Demi: Well, my good friend and line brother Kornelius Bascombe (Born to Shine star) came to me with the idea. He knows how much I love Glee. He also knows my passion to sing and act and thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me. He helped me shoot the audition video and get the word out. I went for it and it’s been great so far.

FABexistence: How exactly does this process work?

Demi: What happens is you can upload your audition video to the website. Anyone can view it

Page 7: FABexistence Nov. 2011

and “like it.” I put my video up 2 weeks ago and am currently in the top 10 most viewed videos and already have over 26,000 views. I wish I had put it up earlier because it has been a great progression so far. Then there is an open audition in New York, where you audition in groups of five in front of a panel of judges. This will continue until they eventually screen you into a group that will audition for the casting director and the winners from last season. The casting director also watches all of the online auditions so hopefully he will remember my audition and like it.

FABexistence: How did you come up with the concept of your audition video?

Demi: We wanted to do something different, because everyone is just sitting there telling you about him or herself and then singing a song. We wanted to do something different, so we started thinking, “why don’t you get slushied? Why not sing into a wooden spoon in the middle of the street?” So far everyone seems to love it, so I guess it’s working. I walk around cam-pus sometimes and people who don’t know recognize me from the video.

FABexistence: What else is coming up for you?

Demi: Well, I hope this project works out and I will be moving to L.A. but if it doesn’t I have still decided to move to L.A. and continue to pursue my acting dreams. I will also continue to

do photography because it has always been a part of my life and I enjoy it.

FABexistence: How do you think you exemplify FABexistence?

Not being afraid of failure and stepping out on limb is exactly what I am doing now with The Glee Project and in my pursuit to be an ac-tor. That was holding me back the most, being afraid to fail and I no longer have that fear anymore.

Demi embodies the lifestyle FABexistence is all about. We wish him luck and safe travels on his trip to New York and we know he will do FAB at his auditions. You can check out his online audition http://the-gleeprojectcasting.com/ search DemiO. Stay tuned to the FABexis-tence blog for updates on his audition!
