DESCRIPTION

Presented to Silicon Valley iOS Developers meetup group Nov 18, 2014. Hosted at Coursera in Mountain View, CA. For more events like this, join: http://meetup.com/apple-watch/ Notes: Apple Watch Hardware • The vibration motor is extremely precise and feels like a light tap on your wrist. The person next to you won’t be able to tell that it is going off, but you will feel it. You’ll be able to feel different parts of the backface face vibrate, so for example if you are using it for GPS directions, you could feel the difference between a right turn and a left turn vibration • Apple Watch also has a scroll wheel on the side that is known as the Digital Crown. By spinning it, you can collect one-dimensional movement information to zoom maps and images, or scroll through a list • Heart rate sensor UX Interactions • You can tap and swipe on the screen just like iPhone with a few notable additions • Force touch (pressing hard) allows you to pop up a contextual menu. Or, this might be useful in a space-based shooter game; taps could shoot the machine-gun, and a hard press fire a missile • Swiping up from the bottom revels Glances. These are single page-sized widgets that offer quick access to information like stocks, weather, or your next meeting • Actionable Notifications have configurable buttons. A friend request from Facebook would have “Add friend" “Not now” buttons to dismiss it
