Eye For an Eye: First Draft Poster Feedback

Here is my first draft poster, and I have gained a lot of feedback from my teachers and my target audience, in terms of improving it and making it more appealing to my target audience. I have been given the feedback that my first draft poster is interesting but the execution is messy and undefined. My feedback was that the heights of my antagonist and protagonist aren’t equal and do not mirror each other exactly, suggesting that it looks unprofessional and unfinished almost. Both the images look quite amateur in the sense that it doesn’t blend in with the background. Therefore I will be able to use the ‘Opacity’ tool to ensure that I feather and blend in my images so that it is on a par with the background and therefore it will look much more mysterious fitting in with the smoky background.

This will certify that the images will be incorporated subtly into the other layers and look more like ‘The Woman in Black’s’ poster as the ghostly image is faded into the background and looks very effective. Nonetheless, there was also the topic of whether I should be able to show the antagonist altogether, because in my first draft poster, I have revealed too much of her, and therefore this doesn’t raise questions and gives away quite a lot to my target audience. In terms of my trailer, one of the most important aspects was to make sure that Nicole and I will not show too much of the killer unless its at the end where the climax of the trailer builds. Similar to this, I will have to ensure that my killer is not fully revealed on my poster but I still wish to put her there.

Eye For An Eye: First Draft Website

As well as my poster, I also gained feedback for my website design. What went well in terms of my website is that I have added and included all the relevant components of a website. My colour schemes and images are consistent in keeping with my poster. In terms of my website, my fonts work well in the context of the website according to the feedback I have been given. However, my first draft website is highly unfinished in the sense that I have left no room for my trailer to be embedded which is very important. Like my poster first draft, it is very messy and unorganised in terms of the positioning on the page and therefore once I make enough room on the page, I will have necessary information clearly and effectively presented. With the intention of doing this, I have to shrink everything to make room. Like my poster, I will also have to blend the images of the protagonist and antagonist with the background so that it remains smoky and mysterious. I think that the way everything is laid out is quite messy and like the first draft of my poster. I will also have to make space for my billing box. With the purpose of doing so, I will have to shrink many of the components on my webpage.
