With your A Levels approaching fast, now is the time to think about what comes next. Everyone’s road to the right career is different. This is why it’s important to explore the options – while holding on to your own individual interests and aspirations.
Some of you will be looking to enter the world of work straight out of 6th form. Many of you will be looking to further your studies by reading for a degree at University. If neither option seems quite right, the EY ACCA Programme may be what you are looking for.
The EY ACCA Programme has been specifically designed for ambitious students looking to fast-track their careers in accountancy – just as our Assurance Leader did. To succeed, you need to bemotivated and committed to working hard to achieving your goals.
The structured work and study programme commences straight after 6th Form. From day one you’llgain valuable experience, earn an income and build lasting networks whilst studying for one of the most highly respected and internationally valued qualifications around.
It is all structured around our award-winning global development framework, EYU (EY and You) - toensure that we support you with the mix of training, work, mentoring and coaching you need to achieve your ambitions.

My Story
Once qualified, I moved up the ranks quickly. I spent periods of my career working abroad, gaining the international exposure that Big 4 firms put great emphasis on. This experiencealso enabled me to build some of the life skills that I may have missed out on by not going to University. I made Partner 21 years ago and have been the Assurance Leader for EY Malta for 10 ofthose years. I was the President of the Malta Institute of Accountants until 2013and am currently a Council Member.
My advice to anyone considering a career in accountancy is to weigh up the options and think about which qualification route is right for you. Theopportunities for career progression willbe there whichever route you take.

I never imagined pursuing a career withinthe Accounting profession when I was at school. However, my peers made me aware of the opportunities the ACCA qualification would offer me – internationalworking experiences, the flexibility to moveinto any area of business and at the same time gain the professional status enjoyed by doctors and lawyers. I was good withnumbers, had a keen eye for detail andenjoyed working as part of a team. I wassoon convinced that this was the right career for me.
Whilst many things in the profession have changed quite drastically during mycareer – the routes to getting qualified have remained pretty consistent. Likethose of you considering the EY ACCA Programme, I did not go to universityand started my training straight after my A Levels. The step-up was challengingbut I was prepared to work hard to getqualified within the shortest period of time. It provided me with the opportunity togain industry experience quickly, allowingme to put theory into practice.

Starting your ACCA journeywith EY
The EY ACCA Programme has been carefully designed to provide you with the optimal mix ofstudy and work experience. You will be guided through your development by an experiencedmember of staff who will act as your counsellor – a key part of the EYU development framework. Training is provided by BPP Malta – who have trained professionals in the field for over 30 years.

Phase 1(All Fundamental papers + P1)
ACCA Study Programme
The programme starts with a structured full-time study programme for the foundation stages of the course that help develop your knowledge and skills. Examination blocks are interspaced with 20 weeks of work experience, split across 4 separate 5 week periods. Theyare designed to build upon the knowledge gained, enabling you to put theory into practice. Best of all, theycount towards the 3 year accountancyexperience requirements needed to obtain Certified Public Accountant (CPA)status.
Phase 2(P2, P3 + 2 options)
With your technical skills now finely honed, the focus of the programme now changes to developing that vital work experience. You will commence full-timeemployment within one of our service lines with your counsellor guiding you through the transition. With early responsibility and the support and training to grow, you'll build the confidence to pursue your goals. Exposed to a wide range of clients, you can expect to develop your networks, collaborate with specialists, and learn from mentors. Fully paid study and educational leave are provided during this period to ensure you complete your ACCA qualification in the shortest periodof time.
What’s on offer?
