WELCOME TO THE 22ND EDITION OF OUR ANNUAL SALARY SURVEY GUIDE! This year Executive Connections commissioned a comprehensive survey of over 250hiring professionals who operate within our core specialist markets to learn more ofexpected hiring patterns and remuneration levels across Ireland for 2013.

Over 78% of hiring managers surveyed believe that salary levels will remain static for the remainder of 2013. However, of the 22% remaining there was an expectation that salary levels will rise by between 3% and 5% across functional requirements linked to corporate governance, compliance, risk, audit, specialist finance and arrears management functions. It was also interesting to note that bonuses are no longer a thing of the past. 62% of those surveyed expected bonuses to be paid this year where company and performance metrics are met. Additionally, 23% of those who participated in the survey indicated that where benefits packages had been previously withdrawn or downscaled they have now been reinstated. There also appears to be an evident resistance to losing high performers. Although 12% of organisations suggested that they would make a counter offer retention effort, 3% proposed a belief that this would retain such an individual for longer than 6 months.

As a recruitment business who has participated in the placement of finance and bankingprofessionals locally and internationally over the past 22 years, it would appear that 2013 holds a feeling of cautious optimism. 40% of our client organisations surveyed expect an increase in headcount during 2013, less than 8% expect a headcount reduction andthe vast majority remain uncertain at this stage. As we move into Quarter 2, I would liketo take this opportunity to thank all of our valued client organisations for their continuedsupport. This salary guide has been created with you in mind.
