So, keep your glands happy and not only is your bodyholistically well, but so is your karmic clearing house. Wow.It's a great system, isn't it?!

Don't leave Earth without it

As an astrologer and astrotherapist, if I had to pick just onearea of a natal chart or horoscope and elevate it inimportance above all others it would be the Moon’s Nodes. The soul’s basic agenda for this life can be found in theMoon’s Nodes.

If you don't take care of any other soul tasks in this lifetime, atthe very least, take care of the lessons brought to you by theMoon's Nodes in your chart.

The Moon’s Nodes are important aspects in the horoscope. These are significant soul lessons requesting an opportunityto be worked out.

If the lessons of the Moon’s Nodes are ignored now, anopportunity to resolve matters will return at another time, however, the path will be more difficult to the attainmentof your goal.

South Node...to be transmuted; North Node...the path of integration and fulfillment

The south node shows the way of least resistance; the habit patterns of the past that should be outgrown ordiscarded. The north node shows the way out; the path of integration through which there can be fulfillment.

Consider the Nodes in the same manner as one would view a class we have to take in order to graduate. We don’treally want to learn the material of this particular class, but it’s important for our course of study. We can choosenot to take it when it’s offered, but we’ll just end up taking it during the summer when we’d rather be outsideplaying in the sunshine and enjoying our vacation.

We don’t call them Psychic Fairs in Klamath Country!

Over the years here in Klamath Falls, we’ve done several wellness fairs that have proved popular and a great way

for the general public to learn a little more about alternative wellness practitioners and the type of work they do.The fairs are fun, interesting and a wonderful contribution to the community as far as holistic wellness care.

My service at these fairs is always massage, reflexology or quickie-astrotherapy. Due to the nature of the event, practitioners curtail normal ‘session’ length and depth in order to be available to people off and on all day as theycome and go.

When doing even the simplest and quickest of chart consults, like the ones we do at wellness fairs that tend to bebrief, I always give people the information about the Moon’s Nodes in their chart. It's that important.

Isabel Hickey was a phenomenal astrologer who learned from Max Heindel, a gifted metaphysician. They bothconsider astrology to be a sacred cosmic science necessary to the spiritual and physical well being of mankind. Itjust so happens that they're both Leos, too; don't know Myrna's Sun sign - astrologers can be oddly secretiveabout their own personal horoscope data - possibly because they, more than anyone, realize how much can berevealed about a person through this info.

I disagree with hiding the info, though, for the simple reason that telepathy would naturally operate fully if we didn'tthink we had something to hide from one another. And, telepathy is expedient and I love good short cuts!

Myrna Lofthus, a student of Isabel’s, is naturally talented in these areas as well, as she shows in her invaluablework, A Spiritual Approach to Astrology . I love how she synthesizes and updates Isabel's teachings without alteringthe messages.

The following excerpt on the Moon’s Nodes is from this work:

Nodes in the Houses:

North in 1st South in 7th: Person must develop his own initiative and his own personal power. Has relied too muchon other people in the past and has been dependent or dominated by others. Now you must hew and carve outyour own destiny. Through your own efforts and your own actions you will gain the confidence and self-relianceyou need.

South in 1st - North in 7th: You need to get away from yourself. You have lived for and to yourself until you havebecome too independent. Needs to take other people into account and get away from too much self-centeredness.Self-assertion has to be eliminated. Integration and fulfillment come through giving up the personal ego andhelping others to attain a sense of their worth.

North in 2nd - South in the 8th: Emphasis is on developing personal resources. Can attract money and needs todo so in order to develop “attracting” power. The ability to attract, (Venus) whether it is material or spiritual, is to bebuilt on. Reliance on other people’s resources or other people’s money must go.

South in 2nd - North in 8th: Subconscious habit patterns of the past have been the “getting” principle rather thanthe “giving” one. Must help others to find their resources and their sense of worth. The play on the senses mustgive way to the transforming of passion into compassion. Before the seed can bring forth fruit it must be buried indarkness, break its self-enclosed shell and reach for the Light. Helping others to find their resources and values isthe clue to the right use of this position.

North in 3rd - South in 9th: The integration lies in the developing of the mental powers. The ability to reasonlogically and the power to analyze the objective world realistically must be brought to bear on the environingconditions. The person has had blind faith and has been religious in the past but it has been in a non-thinkingdogmatic fashion.

South in 3rd - North in 9th: Too much emphasis on mind and not enough emphasis on superconscious power.Faith and devotion to an ideal needed. Separative tendency strong for mind separates; heart unites. Faith is tiedwith feelings and with the heart. Inner philosophy along devotional lines needed to balance the intellectualfaculties. Should travel, outwardly and inwardly, for expansion. Relatives may be a source of difficulties. Learn toforgive.

North in 4th - South in 10th: The fourth house represents the midnight or deeply hidden depth of the personality. This is why it represents the soul powers; what we are in the depths is not what we always appear on the surface. In the depth of oneself (home) the inner powers must be released. Not for this one the acclaim of the public andthe limelight. You had it all in the past. You gained from it the sense of power that made you feel your importanceas a person. Now, you must grow a soul.

South in the 4th - North in the 10th: This soul has had his soul powers developed. You have withdrawn and lived ina quiet reserved manner. Now you must come out into the public and the limelight and give yourself in some publicway to the world. In a career, you will find your fulfillment. If you try to cling to home it may in some manner betroublesome. Unconscious desire to retreat has to be overcome. You must learn to be with people rather thanretreat from them.

North in 5th - South in 11th: Through self-expression (through the use of the individual’s creative force, whether itbe children of the body, mind or emotions), you will find fulfillment. Attention must be given to developing your owndesires and will, and not be led by others. Friends have helped you in the past and thereby weakened you insteadof strengthening you. Dependence is a habit pattern buried deeply in the subconscious, but this time the will tostand on one’s own strength and attain your own goals is the necessary ingredient for a successful life.

South in the 5th - North in the 11th: Energy expended in personal affections will not likely bring adequatesatisfaction. Perhaps a treading of the primrose path, seeking pleasure and evading responsibility is asubconscious pattern of the past that is being redeemed in this lifetime. Friends will bring far more satisfaction andsustainment than family ties. Goals and objectives that deal with group endeavors or service of a universal naturewill be successful as well as a means of spiritual integration.

North in 6th - South in the 12th: Integration only comes to this individual through service. Must come out of yourshell and work. You have been isolated through self-undoing in the past. Either enforced seclusion or restrictionsdue to lack of compassion in the past has made it easy to retreat this time. Fulfillment comes to you throughserving others and losing the sense of separateness. Humility, the last virtue to be attained, can be the keynote ofyour life if you are willing to serve others with no concern about the self. In order for any of us to becomesomething we have to be willing to be nothing. This is the message of the 6th house.

South in the 6th - North in the 12th: You have the ability to clear payments due from past karma by self-initiatedchannels of service. Work with those limited and afflicted would be fulfilling and integrative. Hypochondriactendencies must be overcome. Subconscious tendency to identify with negative conditions needs eliminatingthrough positive and uplifting emotions. In a past you may not remember, negativity brought on disharmony anddisease in the body. Now, helping others achieve a new and happier outlook is the way for you to find fulfillmentand peace of mind.

Nodes in the signs:

North Node in Aries: Gives self-assertion and a progressive nature. Should develop independence and stand onyour own convictions. Personality should be brought into full development. Before you can give yourself away youhave to have a self to give. North Node in Aries directs you to cultivate: inspiring, courageous.

North Node in Taurus: Gives resourcefulness and the ability to be very practical in the approach to the materialworld. Attracts possessions and those who want to be possessed. Must help others to be independent by refusingthem the luxury of being dependent. Crutches, if used too long, even psychological crutches, can keep one fromdeveloping strength. Must cultivate: persevering, practical.

because of an optimistic viewpoint toward life. This kind of attitude should be cultivated in this life. Must cultivate:expressive, versatile.

North Node in Leo: Gives executive ability and qualities of leadership. Needs to be independent to do a good job.You have nobility and pride. The virtue hidden in pride is self-respect. If self-respect is lacking you would have theability to cultivate it in this life. Must cultivate: ambitious, generous.

South Node in Leo: You’ve misused your power and developed far too much ego in the past. This time there mustbe concern for others instead of a concern for self-agrandizement. The South Node in Leo directs you to releasethe qualities of: intolerant, dictatorial.

North Node in Virgo: Discrimination and purity are the qualities that will lead to growth and progress in this life. The hidden “Christ within” must be expressed through service. Must cultivate: analytical, tolerant.

South Node in Virgo: The qualities of criticism and passing judgement must be left behind. They have been thecause of self-undoing in the past and are still hidden in the subconscious motivations and need clearing. Mustrelease: critical, intolerant.

North Node in Libra: Implies spiritual integration which comes from moving from self to others; from personalitylevels to the soul levels. Emphasis should be on loving others and getting away from self love. Must cultivate:diplomatic, cheerful.

South Node in Libra: There has been too much emphasis on leaning on others and letting them run your life. Now,you must make your own decisions whether they are right or wrong. Growth comes through one’s own experienceand expression. Must release: indecisive, dependent.

North Node in Scorpio: You need to go the way of regeneration. Spiritual integration comes through going fromselfish interests to concern for others. Must let Divine Will be done, not the personal will. Only through the way ofthe Higher Self will this person find peace. Must cultivate: efficient, patient.

South Node in Scorpio: Implies that the downward path has been trodden in the past and this must be redeemedthrough overcoming resentment and not using force to compel. Lust and greed must become love and the givingspirit must overcome the grabbing tendency. Must release: vindictive, resentful.

North Node in Sagittarius: The north node here points the way to far horizons, physically and spiritually. You willgain through associations with others and pioneering in new lines of philosophical or educational endeavors. Aninner positivity can be developed that will be of great help in overcoming any negative aspects in the birthchart.Must cultivate: honest, optimistic.

South Node in Sagittarius: Gives poor judgement and adds to the restless and rash tendencies that keepindividual from accomplishment. Has to learn to concentrate and focus forces and not go dashing off looking forother fields to conquer. Conquering, like charity, begins where the person is placed. Must release: changeable, tactless.

North Node in Capricorn: Implies that business ability and ambition would be directed toward public good, or couldbe so directed. Integration would come through persistent sustaining effort to climb the heights of attainment andbecome a redeemer for others. Must cultivate: efficient, patient.

South Node in Capricorn: Past habits of selfish ambition and a desire for power for self and to dominate overothers. This tendency would have to be faced and overcome. Must release: self-absorbed, pessimistic.

North Node in Aquarius: This shows the path of spiritual progress is the pathway of service to the group, throughan understanding of the unity of all life. Field of activity should be one that affects society and not an individual.Science, medicine, research and philosophical or educational fields would be the avenues that could be usedmagnificently. The North Node in Aquarius directs you to cultivate the qualities of: original, helpful.

South Node in Aquarius: The past habits have been to retreat from the world because of a snobbishness ordistaste. Strong egocentric tendencies have to be overcome. Must release: rebellious, detached.

North Node in Pisces: Implies the complete relinquishment of the self in service to others. Passion would becomedispassion without losing compassion. Must cultivate: compassionate, industrious.

South Node in Pisces: Past tendencies of escapism, coping out of responsibility and it would be easy to follow thatpattern in this life for the tendency could be there unless the rest of the chart showed differently. Senses andsensuality have been strong in the past; now the higher senses must prevail. Must release: indecisive, overly-sensitive.
