Markus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD is Profes-sor and Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsyl-vania, USA, where he founded the UPenn CAD/CAM Center. A Diplomat in the German Society of Prosthodontics, he received his dental, doctorate degrees, and a Professorship from University of Freiburg, Germany.

He serves on the editorial boards of numerous dental jour-nals and is Clinical Associate Editor of Quintessence Inter-national. He is co-founder and president-elect of the Interna-tional Academy for Adhesive Dentistry (IAAD) and a member of multiple other professional organisations. Dr. Blatz has published and lectured extensively and is the recipient of multiple teaching and research awards.

Dr Otto ZuhrDr. Med. Dent. Munich, Germany

Otto completed his dental training at the University of Aachen in 1992, and then undertook postgraduate studies across Switzerland, Scandinavia and the USA. In 2001, he was recognised as a specialist in periodontology. He maintains a specialist periodontal private practice in Munich, Germany, and contributes to periodontal teaching at the University of Frankfurt.

He also serves as a board member of the German Society of Periodontology (DGP). Otto has a particular interest in the interplay of periodontology and aesthetic dentistry, and his book “Plastic Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery” was published by Quintessence in 2011.

The egg-shape (H379AGK) and the grenade-shape (H390AGK) are specially suited for palatinal reduction of adhesive in the lingual technique.

In cooperation with Dr. Radlanski, Freie Universität Berlin, the AGK burs have been developed as specialist instruments for removing adhesive residues. The instru-ments are able to remove the soft adhesive quickly and, thanks to their special tooth-ing, without damaging the hard enamel. At low contact pressure, the instruments operate with low vibration and achieve perfectly smooth surfaces while generating merely a minimum of heat.

This is possible thanks to the innovative blade geometry. The twisted blades made of durable tungsten carbide are optimally suited for precise reduction of soft materi-als and assure smooth operation and high treatment comfort.

Filing Reverse to Cut Load

More Efficient than Ordinary Torque Reverse

When the torque applied to the file exceeds the set limit, the file instantly reverses 90 degrees and then rotates forward at least 180 degrees. The torque level that triggers the reverse rotation can be set much lower than the previous model at 20g, 40g, 60g, or 100g. A low torque reverse setting improves patient safety as it allows the file to follow the canal curvature much more ac-curately, reducing the risk of file binding and breakage. Additionally, with a reverse angle of only 90 degrees, the clinician is able to con-tinue to work efficiently without bother-some interruption.

New OTR Function Safer and easier canal preparation with precise torque control and canal measurement.

The new OTR (optimum torque reverse) module safely and efficiently cleans and enlarges canals. It reduces file binding and breakage by employing precise torque reverse control. This module is exceptionally good at following the contours of curved canals and minimizes the creation of ledges and perforations.

The new OTR module can easily be attached to the current Dentaport canal measurement module, which allows the clinician to measure the canal during preparation.

Extremely High Measurement Accuracy The position of the apex is precisely detected by measuring the impedance of two frequencies inside the canal.

Automatic and Accurate Measurement for Both Wet and Dry Canals By calculating the ratio of impedance at two different frequencies, measurements are accurate regardless of the conditions inside the canal.

An instrument created to add a notch at the gingival margin of clear aligners anywhere elastic hooks are required within the arch. The Tear Drop provides a reservoir to hold the elastics in place as the aligner is seated. This permits easier manipulation of elastics by the patient.

The Tear Drop elastic hook can be used to hook-up elastics of all types from Class II, Class III, Delta, Class I intraarch, for connection to TADS, and to produce extrusive forces for specific teeth.

The Tear Drop elastic hooks can be used in tandem with bonded attachments to direct eruption of teeth into aligners.

The Tear Drop is positioned at an angle to the force that will be applied to the clear aligner by the elastics and the depth of the reservoir cut can be adjusted to need.

The Hole Punch is used to create half-moon cutouts for relief of clear aligners around bonded buttons used for elastics. No need to attempt to attach buttons to plastic trays. In addition, the Hole Punch can nip away plastic to provide soft tissue clearance to prevent aligner impingement of tissue.

The half moon cutout can be placed on any tooth where bonded buttons or brackets are added for elastics or other biomechanics.

The Hole Punch is positioned at the gingival margin with one-half of the “circle” of the punch over the plastic of the aligner.

The Hole Punch can also be used to relieve marginal plastic impingement or irritation of soft tissue anywhere along the aligners such as the incisive papilla.

INDICATION

A unique combination of a preparation shield and a sectional matrix for

Class II fillings of primary teeth. FenderPrime enables a fast, simple and

safe restoration of primary teeth.

FUNCTIONFenderPrime is a plastic Wedge with a steel plate, which is inserted into

the proximal space. The “boat-shape” of the tip allows the gingiva to

be condensed without damages and reduces the risk for bleeding. The

long FenderPrime can be bent to adopt to the contour of the tooth.

USAGEFenderPrime is available in two sizes, long and short. FenderPrime

green (the long wedge) is bendable. If needed it can easily be secured

with a floss.

A sectional matrix for small to medium Class II composite fillings,

accounting for more than half of all Class II fillings.

FUNCTIONFenderMate is a combined sectional matrix and wedge with a design

that achieves a dependable matrix that is easily applied. The side of the

wedge facing the adjacent tooth has an angled wing. During insertion,

the wing presses the matrix firmly against the preparation, giving a tight

seal at the cervical margin. To form the contact point the matrix has a

pre-contoured indentation, which enables a natural contact.

USAGEFenderMate is designed to be inserted either buccally or lingually.

major preparations such as crowns, veneers and inlays.

FUNCTIONFenderPrep is a combined wedge and steel plate. It has a thin and

“boat-shaped” tip which allows it to be inserted into tight proximal

spaces at the same time as it condenses the gingiva without damages.

USAGEFenderPrep can be inserted buccaly or lingually. The steel plate is

perforated thus allowing it to be bent before insertion so that it will lean

against the adjacent tooth to be protected, providing better space and

vision, saves time with increased safety. The wedge with its conical

profile is pushed so it sits tightly.
